My new community requires 100 posts AND 20 days of being with the community (and 500 reputation points). Maybe something like that?

 

yes thats the sorta thing were saying and it cuts down on scamming alot have you found this?

 

if you make it to 200-250 post it would be way better
and if leechers got to 200 post and scammed somebody it will get them banned
and they wil try to make a new account and have to get 200 more post which will take them a little whiole

It'll decrease scams by A LOT, but spamming will increase by A LOT.

You do realize that all that would happen is all these untrustworthy leechers you seem to despise, they'd just spam the shit out of Sythe, making the ENTIRE community unhappy. A little bit of scamming here and there, or shitloads of noobs spamming for 200 post count? Yeah, bad idea mate.

 

Doing this would not decrease scammers, like I have already said. The way to get rid of scammers is not to ban them, and stop them from coming, as if there is a will, there is a way. What we need to do is make the scammers not want to come anymore through the use of education. This suggestion will lead to spam, and will not help anything.

You see, if you cant trust the person enough not to use a mm, then what are you using an mm for? You have to have trust in the person, and you will not get scammed.

Afterall, this method has worked for me when i use to use the black market, and i have yet to be scammed.

Well duh, thats obvious. Whenever someone said to use a mm, i either told em im not paying the fees (usually drops it right there, ha) or that im not using a mm. And i gained enough rep over time that if people didn't go first to me, then i wasnt going to trade with them.

 

But to be fair, not every leecher is a scammer. I came here and did 3 or 4 trades before hitting 20 posts, all of which were totally safe and fair.

Although should this not be closed for being on the DNS list?

I have seen people spam to Guru status in less than a month.

I have a suggestion: make everyone download a official Sythe .exe file, complicated to uninstall, and fuck their computer up if they decide to scam.

And look at Report a Scammer section: mods never look at that. Every single case of ban evading, scamming, phishing and so on should be reported. Sythe is horrible....

 

Or if like 3 people said that you scammed then your ip gets banned from the site

Horrible idea. Spamming would be everywhere. You're making a stereotype that all leechers are scammers. Not all of them are.

Let's face it, the only reason people come to this site is RuneScape cheating. Of course there might be WoW cheating, but we'll stick to RuneScape Cheating for now. The black market is the main attraction to this website because people want to buy and sell their gold.

If you think about the majority of RuneScape players, there's going to be people who scam, and people who rwt. I personally believe that there are MANY more people who scam than rwt. Therefor making a huge concentration of these forum members scammers. Some are well known, repeat offenders... And some are just little 13 year old fuckfaces breaking trust.

We need to make the black market a privilege. Right now it's open to anyone; scammers, jagex employees, and even our parents. I think, and Im sure many of you would agree, that if the Black Market was a members only section whereas you need an account + certain number of post count you will gain access to it, we will decrease traffic in the Black Market which is mostly spammers and scammers anyway. I think that although this might cause a few problems, the fact that it will reduce scammers and such will greatly outweigh the problems.

Not only an account & post count required, but a specific date as well. This will not only repel scammers and make it MUCH more difficult to repeatedly scam, but now you can't just make an account anymore and scam, it requires much more than that. I also think this will reduce the amount of idiots we have.

I know that these are all on the 'do no suggest list', but I don't really see why. This forums going downhill and we have way to many scammers, I don't see what it will hurt.

I am highly supportive of this suggestion, however we need to work out a few bugs. You guys are right with you "less scam, more spam" theory but I think we can work around it. Such as a combination of post count AND join date. Obviously people can just make new accounts and spam to each other, but I think this will give the moderators a chance to do less moderation with scammers and deal with more spammers.

Of course along with this new addition you could enforce a spamming rule. Crack down on it, and enforce a Post Per Day restriction to spammers.
