Yes, although at lower levels you will be at a significant disadvantage unless you plan on praying against your opponents lol. Also I'd recommend questing for things like Anchor if you're going to end up getting 52 for smite, who knows could smite ya an AGS.

yeah, 43 and 44 pray are for 1 def pures. Some also have 52 but most of them are 43/44. I know from my own fire caping experience, I deal with pures alot

[Ascension]

I'd aim for 44 pray honestly or 52

Mostly 13/31/44/52

Some are 16 because in order to have Ava's/DT done you need 15, and then they're 1 level from 10% strength.

if you're planning to hybrid get 45 for mage/range prayers, 52 pray on a pure is useless not alot risk anything worth to smite

[AlfRulesU]

if you pk 43 pray is helpful

[OSRSGmt]

Forget 43, get the extra prayer level for 44. Will be worth it!

When I get above combat 70 I'm likely going to be getting 43 prayer. I'd say it's up to personal preference though and if you plan on doing any kind of staking at all.
