32 Prayer vs. 43 Prayer for a Pure

The last pure I created was a maxed 13 prayer pure years ago.
I'm in the process of making a new pure and can't decide on 31 or 43 prayer.
Is there any advantage to not going 43? I'm really thinking 43 is the way to go, but want to make sure I'm not missing something.

 

If you're just going to be pking in Edge there's no real need for 43 prayer, so 32 or 31 would be the better option (I actually think 13 prayer is optimal). Most people (including myself) usually go for 43 to make the required questing less of a pain, but if you can get them done without overheads, go for it. The lower prayer, the better - you'll definitely have a noticeable advantage in fights due to higher relevant combat stats. Also, keep in mind you'll need at least 40 prayer if you ever want a fire cape down the line without spending an exorbitant amount.

Would recommend 32 and hiring a quester if you have the money for that. If not, then 43 might be your best option to make things easy on yourself.

Why would you get 32 prayer? I'm guessing you either mean 31 or 34, 13/31/34 would the best prayer levels for edge pking imo.

 

I'd just get 44.. it makes questing not a hassle and only adds one combat level. Range to melee pking is by far more fun anyways

Shouldn't be so scared to gain a few combat levels. I would say it's defintly worth to get 44 prayer as stated above for questing. It also has many more utilities.

You can get fire capes with 1 prayer. Google 'Fire cape with 1 prayer' for more information on how to do so, including in-depths guides.

While you can get a Fire Cape without 43 prayer, it's ridiculously helpful, plus it'll help with any quest monsters you have to face as well. I'd say it's worth the combat levels, time and cost to be honest.

The deed is done. Went ahead and got 43 today. Spent 500k or so (I think? didn't really count) using someone's gilded altar.
3 more pre-req quests left and I'll have all the pre-reqs done for MM, DT, and Mith Gloves.

 

Hmm ive always enjoyed having the ability to smite. Just my opinion

I'd go for 43/44, simply because I'd use it to get a Firecape (If you're not planning to pay for one)

It also makes questions a lot easier.

Well.. with botting 100% down the drain I probably won't actually ever even reach the final goals. I listed my short term and long term goals.
- 60 Attack
- 75/99 Strength
- 75/99 Range
- 82/99 Magic
- 43 Prayer (for a good while at least)
- 99 HP (Long as I'm at a good HP level, dont really care about getting 99)
-1 Defence

Quests :
MM
DT
Mith Gloves
All the other necessary pure quests and pre-quests.
I'm done with all pre-quests to MM/DT/RFD except for 13 thieving levels and two sub-quests.

Other items:
- Fire Cape
- Halo & CW armor
- A good chompy hat

When I quit RS back in '11 or so, I sold my main and my pure. This account is all I have. I don't have the time nor interest to make another main, so this'll serve as my only account. I don't like being a one trick pony, so one day, eventually, I hope to get some nice non-combat 99's as well.
I don't think that'll ever happen though. Old and too busy irl now. Can't hurt to be hopeful though.
