Okay, well today the computer wasn't 'working right', so my brothers girlfriend did a system restore (idiot). But, now that I have installed msn and DSL again, when you log on to one of the accounts for the computer explorer.exe will not work. When I go to ctrl alt delete menu, or whatever its called, I go to 'file-new proccess-explorer.exe' and it doesn't work. I can't see my desktop, icons, or start menu. Anyone know what the deal is?
umm, I know there is away to do this... But Im lazy to say it.. When this happened to me, I actually did a clean install of my computer, So when everything is reinstalled there was explorer.exe... Try like to get the windows task managers and new task and type "explorer.exe"... Then it should take a min or 2 to get the things back. Also if you have the chance to get the start bar back, then just undo the system restore. If you don't like methods..I am sure Phil will help you.. Just be patient
lol i know what wrong, ive seen this alot, when you log in your not exactly logged into your account, if you know networking really well you would know what to do..... i wanna tell you but then you wouldnt learn anything so heres a hint OPERATING SYSTEM and *cough* safemode *cough*
Badmouthing anyone isn't going to help you. Try restarting your PC and see if explorer starts or not. Otherwise, try doing another restore to an earlier point?
This should work System File Checker: Insert your installation CD, Start | Run | cmd | type "sfc /scannow" What it does: Scans your computer for corrupted operating systems files and fixes them.
