Death Penalty

Does all of the US have the death penalty or is it just certain states, we could also send them to the moon (if we manage to make it habitable) and make them mine moon cheese.

What the point? , they don't have another chance at getting their lives on track. And i also think good behavior should get you earlier parole, I know they already do this but its not enforced enough.

Gaar, im not talking about Australia, im generalizing about countries/states that do.

Anyone notice the difference in the time of sentences between Australia and America

Armed robbery australia (5-10) America (15- life)

Weird,

I just don't like the idea of releasing a killer back into society after he has proven his potential to kill.

And I'm not exactly sure about Australia, but with all the prison overcrowding in America, those who show good behavior and committed less serious crimes are being released way before their sentence is over.

Pakistan has over 3,000 people on their death row.

The death penalty is the easy way out of a serial killer or thief that seriously deserves to rot in a cell forever instead of just killing them which in my opinion isn't a punishment because once their dead that's it.

Won't the prisons be full if there was no death penalty though?

I believe it is wrong to torture people, even after what they've done. Granted, I would throw a terrorist in a jail cell and leave him there for life...But in different circumstances, take criminals in the US..there are many different classifications of criminals in the system today, and they are prosecuted and each of them are given a certain sentence, as most of you know...But when it comes to the death penalty I don't think it's right...It is just basically trying to play God...you control the time and date of a persons execution...How sick is that? For a human to plan on executing someone, taking their lives into their control...It's wrong. Life sentences are one thing, but lethal injection or other forms of the death penalty just go way too far.

Did you know that the Untited States has the biggest population in their prisons? There are well over 2,000,000 in the U.S prisons.

Yes I did know it had the biggest population..I think it's because the laws there are tight and law enforcement is cracking down on them...Yet look, there are still many people out on the streets killing people and selling drugs and weapons that just cycles back and forth putting ever more criminals out there...

Most crimes here are related somehow to money. Theres' not enough money being printed for the people. The population is suddenly increasing. More people are being born than people dieing.

They also have the most serial killers.

Soul you cannot print endless money...You know why?Every cent of currency is just a representation...The object that makes it worth something is gold brick...The amount of gold brick determines how much money can be printed...That's why Fort Knox for example is so heavily guarded..(If you don't know how heavily..They have military base nearby, minefields, tanks, and cutting age security inside.)

Tbh, I hope they use it more often. People that get it really do deserve it.

You're not making much sense. There are times when there is a wrong verdict and people are executed wrongly although it doesn't happen often. Are you saying that they deserve it? I have a feeling that all you're doing is spamming threads since you have 40+ posts per day. Please keep it away from Something for All.

No, don't use it more often. Let thoes sick fucks sit in jail for life. Then you make it worse for them and prevents the action of accidentally killing an innocent person.

EXACTLY!That is a pretty much foolproof way to solve this problem. But I think that the jail system could get a little over-populated if it came to that..I do agree with Fallen that the above is the best solution though.

Gah! The death penalty does not accomplish anything other than a petty sense of revenge!

All that executing somebody does is end another human life. It does not bring anybody back to life, does not "un-molest" someone, etc. How can you rationalize that they just "deserve" to die, without proving that you act on panicky human emotions rather than logic?
It appears to me that you're somewhat skipping the whole concept of justice. The death penalty might not be of any "material good" for society, but what other punishment is just for someone committing a crime against humanity? For someone who kills for sport?

You do justice to repay someone what they have lost, or to make amends for a bad situation. What will killing the killer accomplish?

If you want a just punishment, how about locking them up for life?
