Bump Button

Would be a good way to desaturate the market for sg. It would be a mistake to lessen the timer below 6 hours as this can effectively be abused by businesses with excess money to spend. Making it 5 makes no sense as the maximum amount of bumps you can have in a day is still 4. If you want to do that as a selling point, then it makes sense.

I'm glad this is most likely to be implemented.

A couple of ideas that come to mind but I'm unsure how good they would be without detailed discussion with others.

1) Increase the early bump time, so you can bump ever couple hours, however the more you bump, the more it costs. Eg: first bump: 250SG, second: 500SG, third 1000SG etc, then it resets at some point.

2) Allow traditional 8 hour comment bumping, but due to the fact most people will use traditional bumping with their autobumpers to spam reply count, somehow make it so autobumping posts do not accumulate sythe gold as it's practically "gold farming" sythe gold.

 

I think Matthews idea of early bumps at 6 hours is fine, and at the cost of 250sg which seems fair. Increasing this to 4 hours will just limit small business's who can't afford to do this regularly to be at a major disadvantage. Thus making people less likely to want to set up shop here. We're at a good place here let's not just make it totally in favour of big companies.

 

Agree with this, please make it so auto-bumper posts don't gain Sythe Gold. (Don't know if possible) Especially since SG can be transferred etc. I remember making a butracker report about this. Which Matthew has seen finally. I'd personally not want it to be post-able as well as the button, but I don't really know.

Workers could be more community involved / buy SG then send the SG to the owner so they can bump thread quicker, will that be allowed or?

The SytheGold per bump is a good amount, but there's only 4 bumps per 5-8 hours in a day (it wont make a difference at 5/6 hours), so if you happen to decrease the timer to 4 hours per bump it should be something like 1500sg. Also bigger businesses who can afford SG rather than smaller businesses (may get an edge over smaller businesses that don't have the money to afford to buy SG), so I'm not sure about that.

 

@Sythe @Matthew I'm reading all these posts and see people talking about charging 250 sg - 500sg per early bump. Do you guys not notice how hard it is it get sythe gold. I highly doubt anyone will be bumping there threads early.

People barley have any sythe gold as it is. Also, If sg becomes way easier to get then sg well just loose value overall.

 

Not to sure what you mean "people barley have sythe gold" when you've got 17k. It seems that you're just posting a biased view to make more money from the sg that you've got. We don't want everyone bumping the thread 2 hours early that's why the amount is meant to be reasonably high but fair. There will be plenty of people bumping the thread early, as it's common knowledge that having your thread as high as possible brings more potential customers.

 

Come up with better ideas for sythe gold please, this is unfair to new market users.

 

Could be biased in a way but not really. I'm looking at the bigger picture here, If you look around most people have like what barley 100-1k sg, some have 2k+, not much more then that. A few users have more then that but not many.

I don't really see many people bumping there threads early for 250-500 sg just my thoughts. Just look around the forums most users have like what 100-500 sg and some have even less that that.

yes overtime more people will have sg but for now I think early bumps should be like 20-50 sg max and overtime it should be more.

 

Early bumps should not come cheap. They are a very powerful mechanic and thus should not be easy to obtain. They should only be readily available to those who are willing and dedicated to putting time into the forum.

 

Is that confirmed yet? Would come in handy

i support this and like that it gives sythe gold a use. i will add that we should outlaw thread autobumping bots as a result of this change though. they'll be totally superfluous (heh) under the new system

to those claiming that this gives big market players an advantage, it doesn't really. people already do things to get thread bumps (offer discounts for vouches, tell people buying offsite to post on their threads, etc.). this just directs the flow of the transaction back through sythe, which isnt a bad thing.

also, i vote in favor of making it 250sg per bump but making it 500sg if you're bogdan just to fuck with him
