Great win for the Celtics last night, swept the Pacers for the year, and are now only 1 game behind the Cavs!

 

Shoutout to D-Book for the 70pt performance in their loss to the C's a couple nights ago.

 

There is no way Durant will win it unfortunately with his injury.

I hope Westbrook gets it.

 

Leonard is in the race as well. In an interview with Kobe, he said he believes it could be co-MVP's with Harden / Westbrook.

I agree it should be co but media will vote Harden just because he has a better team around him. And even if it should be co, how would that happen - an exact tie in the thousands of points that are voted on? Or do they have to write in "Harden and WB"?

 

It's pretty hard to determine an MVP for this year, considering Westbrook is putting up a phenomenal amount of triple-doubles and having an overall hell of a year while Harden is putting up an outstanding amount of triple double as well, but in reality, there could only be one MVP. In reality, I don't see it likely that co-MVP's is actually going to happen.

With that being said, how do you determine who could be the MVP?

- LeBron James has put up a career-best FG%, while making history along the way. Breaking numerous records and advancing on the all-time lists, but the ending of the season isn't looking too bright for him or the Cavaliers losing 5 of the last 10, and going on a 2 game losing streak

- Kawhi Leonard has put up a overall good season, as he and the Spurs usually do. Terrific defense player but it's hard to really put him in the advancing category of MVP.

- James Harden is doing something amazing, 29.3 PPG, 11.4 APG, and 8.0 RPG, with 20 triple-doubles in the bag, he's really carrying the better portion of the Rockets and their NBA standings.

- Russel Westbrook is just the triple-double machine, averaging 31.4 PPG, 10.4 APG, and 10.5 RPG. The only issue with Westbrook is even though he's putting out these numbers, his team isn't efficient. With him putting up huge numbers, his team isn't constantly converting into wins (although these last 10 games are going very well for the Thunder).

So really, hard to decide who deserves MVP. Who would you choose if you had to just pick one?

 

Scratch that.... Russ for MVP. 19 points in the 4th and game tying off-balanced 3-pointer to send the game into overtime. Currently has 55 pts, 11ast, 11 boards, and a couple minutes left in overtime.

 

20-39 (51.6%) shooting, 6-15 from 3 (40%). Crowd is chanting MVP.

Why would anyone want to see a co-mvp? It would be an embarrassment not to give it to Westbrook if he does end up averaging a triple double throughout the season. He's already beaten the all-time season record, which was considered the best season ever by a player (Oscar).

I don't get this argument, his team isn't constantly converting it into wins because they suck - how should that reflect on him as an MVP candidate? If they are a lottery team without him and a 6th seed with I think that's argument enough, and also godDAMN that game winner against the Nuggets....
