New ranks

Tier 4 pls

 

I just feel like you think people pay a lot of attention to detail to the ranks, there are much better actions they could take to do that.

For example, not putting the discussion forums for other games near the bottom of the page

 

One would agree that they do.



There are a lot of things that can be fixed but we have to start somewhere, changing ranks will be an impact on the community and will show to the users that Sythe is willing to expand, grow and change to satisfy their members and future members.

 

Sythe isn't willing to grow and expand.

This preconceived conception of Sythe.org being a democratic haven for nerds and game-fanatics is bullshit.

There's a million threads on this forum about things Sythe.org should do to improve and they're not actually happening at all.

This site serves for 1 purpose: To buy and sell your RS related items.

The fact that it has evolved is due to a few members in powerful positions that have gone beyond the call of duty to change the site.

With that said, the site does not need to change.
Ranks, post count, join dates, all of this crap is irrelevant to the actual purpose of the site.

 

I will proudly say this is false as i will vouch and say Matthew is in the process of making some new additions to the site. I think most of what we don't realize (behind the scenes) type of updates are happening. The servers have gotten better then they once were and the entire layout is much better then the previous one.

If you want something done you've got to get the majority to agree, i.e this thread.

Again, I personally vouch for Matthew when i say he's making some new additions that will hopefully work with the site, he's trying.

 

No it will just cause a shit storm of people who liked the old ranks more while gaining almost nothing.

However, I'm going to say that we'll just have to agree to disagree here, since neither of us will budge from our positions and we're going nowhere.

 

i'm sick in bed so i figured id make some renditions myself.

if we were to move away from runescape related ranks, i think it'd make sense to rid of the santa hats and just have the one logo. although i personally prefer the santas on mod ranks, as it makes mods easily identifiable.

+ possible xbox & steam market mods? both of them are pretty popular and i think a lot of people would agree it'd be nice to have someone keep a real keen eye on things

 

I like your designs, but I like the current ones better. Nothing wrong with an old-fashioned whip.

 

I like the current ones, i hate how the new rs items look anyways.

 

Oh god please don't change the MM rank to that...

 

I personally don't mind updating the images of the ranks to the current images (Such as the Abyssal Whip) but I don't really like the changes so much. Like DJWeasal above said I'm not a fan of the OMM rank either, neither the RuneScape moderator rank you suggested either.

Call me old fashioned but I prefer the old ranks. Probably as it's what i'm used to. I didn't like the donor rank redesign either.

Though having said that, I think the Runescape moderator rank should have something more noticable than an Anger Sword.

 

I prefer the old ones too, it just shows how long Sythe's been around, we all miss the old, retro RS ^_^

 

Maybe, but let's remember we updated the Donor ranks. It does look kind of odd seeing one group of updated ranks and another group of out of date ranks.

 

Eww the graphics mod would look horrible imo if they changed it to that :L

 

I think they're just to give ideas and a little bit of content to the suggestion. I think the basic idea of this thread is to point out that they could use a bit of an update.

 

The donor ranks were updated quite a while ago now, but I see your point. However, just because it is new, doesn't mean it's better.

 

Seems like a great idea, imo we should update the items are the current rs ones

 

Of course, I never said that they were. Personally I'm fine with some of the ranks such as the Santas for the Globals and the Yellow Partyhats for the administrators, it's more say the Anger Sword for the RuneScape section that could be updated to a nicer, recently graphically enhanced weapon. That's just my opinion though.

 

Personally I believe they're fine as is. The classic look of it looks better than some of the new designs imo.

EDIT: Perhaps a poll should be added so that this can be tallied up better instead of sifting through all the pages to see people's decisions?
