New ranks

Some of the ranks are pretty old, so we should discuss some potential changes as a community. Feel free to suggest brand new fun ranks, updates to the items in current ranks, etc. You can create the rank yourself or create a rank based on someone else's suggestions. I'll add all noteworthy images to this post.

Bear in mind this is just a discussion and it's all subject to administrator approval (though I'm sure they'll make any useful changes).

 

i dont think the something for all rank should be based off runescape :s it makes me feel like sythes based around runescape which is not true! idk what it should be but hopefully others will agree and add imput!

edit: but all the others look really good, nice job

edit edit: also why is there a gold stack inbetween the 2 d kites for omm? i think you should keep it like the old one with just 3 d kites.

Personally i love the new ideas, BUT i think that the runscape mod one is fine as is, but maybe make it the Anger battleaxe or something.

Also i forget who it was but it was a moderator i think that posted something about needing ideas for perks for 300+ dollar donators, and i think new ranks/updated ranks would be a nice little cosmetic touch to sythe in general.

So @ the OP: i think these changes should be made FOR SURE:
1. Admin
2. Community Mod
3. Something for all mod.
4. Off topic mod.

 

This is a great update imo if it happens, much needed.

Although the official middleman rank will look like a custom donator rank, so that should be changed.

 

All of our ranks will be based around Runescape as that is out main game of focus.

 

i understand that but sythe is expanding so i believe peoples perception should also change.

 

The Anger Battleaxe, for those (like me) who have no idea what it is:


Maybe the dragon battleaxe would be a good idea?


I only used a rune plate because I thought it represented Runescape pretty well. I thought about using a whip, but then I'd have to change SFA. If you like the idea of using a whip for RS Mods, maybe we could use a Mage Book for SFA?

 

We don't even have a SFA mod, and I'm not sure we need one right now.

I don't really have any GFX skills so I'm not really able to make any new ones. If anyone has any ideas feel free to post them. Note that rank dimensions probably won't be allowed to go above 130px in width and 40px in height.

 

Not all the inside images of staff ranks need to be from RS but the Santa hats need to stay and we aren't going to change the admin rank.

 

Good point, I hadn't thought of that. Any suggestions?

 

Personally, I like the classic looks a lot better, and what is that thing is the middle of the santas?

 

It's a rune plate; read the post above, it was just the first thing that occurred to me.

Again, the examples I posted above are just that: examples. If you have better ideas, please suggest them.

 

I like the graphical revamp of the ranks, bar one, I prefer the old graphics moderator image as the feather seems more visually better than the new one proposed.

Ideas for a new rank:

General support - The people with these granted these positions would be there to offer regular support to people who need it: this could be for dealing with scams that are taking place, offering help to people who are struggling with an exchange between with one another.

(Just an idea which can be expanded on - inb4 hate)

 

I like your new designs, thinking that the new OMM ran looks pretty stupid though. The updated dragon square shields aren't exactly the best looking thing in the world.

 

I'm not a huge fan of any of the proposed ranks, but to be fair I'm quite the minimalist.

 

I agree about the feather, I was just trying to make it fit better with the other ranks.

I should have clarified; this thread is just about updates to the ranks graphics and maybe a few new fun ranks. We're not proposing ideas for entirely new ranks.

I think you guys are focusing too much on the ranks I threw together (very quickly). Maybe I should take them down. They were just examples of possible changes, there's not much point in critiquing them. I meant for people to compile a bunch of suggestions so we could throw our best ideas at the admins.

 

Leave them up, they're just rough examples of what you threw together and could possibly give inspiration for someone else who could potentially come up with an improved version of the rank.

 

Gold stack... kinda don't like.. but I especially don't like that the shields are angled out... it uh seems very awkard especially since other ranks aren't like that.

With all honesty, I never realized how much I love the old RS item graphics... I support leaving them as they are... the only item that improved was the whip =p.

I think it would be a great idea to accept submissions though! This could be a cool idea.

 

Ill rustle up a few random fun ranks if you like, although this is difficult as you haven't stated what the dimensions are, or the text size/format as it appears to be the exact same on ALL ranks, would help!
