New ranks

can we still create fun ranks? if so ill edit mine in here

 

This is based off creating and updating new official ranks, i.e staff/middlemen.

 

still open? i wanna try some.

 

No changes have been made to ranks yet, carry away.

 

I like that, very nice.

Nice attempt Bee, although I think an RS icon that everyone is familar with would work better.

I don't like that to be honest, doesn't fit in with the RS theme the ranks have and looks quite ugly.

This is mainly for potentially updating a few staff/official ranks, but feel free to have a shot.


What about the Head MM rank guys? Does someone want to have a go at that?

 

As much as i hate to say, RuneScape is dying. This site is gonna have to evolve and branch away from RuneScape, so to speak, to stay afloat. This includes possibly changing some ranks which the new middleman rank would look good.

 

I Agree tbh, people do need to realise that Runescape is not the only game out there, and Sythe needs to stay as versatile as possible to stay afloat for years to come.

 

The game hasn't died yet and majority of the users that sign up to Sythe.org is because of the RuneScape market. I believe the ranks should still stay RuneScape related.

The middle icon should be a widely known weapon/piece of armour.

Plane for the future, it also has a lot to do with growth. If we want to build a community some changes need to be made.

 

there isn't any public outcry regarding current ranks but if we were to change to these suggestions i can guarantee there will be. if it ain't broke don't fix it.

 

But it's not like the ranks are preventing us from growing? If you are worried about the community growing other things should be looked at, not the ranks lol.

 

They play a major roll when inviting newcomers. We don't need such a RuneScape "feel". Sure it's what the site was developed around but we're not growing any with the same user base, not everyone wants to play RuneScape nor does everyone who makes a trade here.

 

changing the runescape related ranks is not going to magically get us an abundance of new members bro.

 

False, it's a small step in future changes, bro.

 

No matter how much you want to change it, the site's general image to everyone will be involved with runescape cheating and trades, no amount of changing ranks will really affect that.

In fact I think changing the order of the listed forums would affect it much more than the ranks.

 

Regardless of the way sections are formatted they'll still say the same, incorporating new images to the site aside from ONLY RuneScape makes it look more established and not so one sided.

 

I agree, the Runescape market is here from the website having it historically thus making it the biggest, but we do have many other markets now. Our current image setup makes us look like we are only focused on Runescape which shouldn't be our focus because everyone knows putting all your eggs in one basket is a recipe for disaster.

 

The only issue I see with this line of reasoning is the fact that people will only identify with the images if they currently or previously played runescape.

To others the ranks probably just look like items from miscellaneous game, and probably won't even pay attention to them.
While it may be an ok move eventually to redo the ranks to be something universal, I see no pressing reason to do them now or even in the near future.

 

It shows users that we are willing to expand while making other communities feel involved.
