If he goes through with that, I would say he's scammed.

 

He was paying .6/m + fees on WU for 3400M. That's higher than my 100M Paypal price. If Synful, a fairly trusted member of the community, really was spending $2,000+ on RS Gold, why would he pay a premium to some kid with no reputation? For $2,040 WU, he could have easily asked any major seller for AT LEAST 4 billion gold, if not, closer to 4500M. Factor in WU fees on $2,040 for 3400M, he was paying roughly 63-65 cents per mil. He could not resell it for a profit, and a 2 minute search on the Gold Selling section would find him similar bulk for .5 or lower.

 

I have to more than agree with R2 here, no one who is buying legitimately with a reputation such as Synful's would be purchasing gold at that price during this current gold climate.

 

This is off topic, but... aren't accepting paypal donations a threat to the site. I mean, someone can donate a large sum having premeditated a scam, and then simply chargeback, and repeat the process on numerous accounts. Scamming many users in the process.

 

Kid was obviously a scammer and didnt even need R2p do the maths. All his posts are done towards newer users and he is flauting and using his donator rank to get trust.

This is correct to an extent, but if I was looking to trade with someone and I had decide between someone with a $200 donation, low post count, barely any vouches and a fresh join date or someone established with reasonable vouches/post count and an earlier join date I'd pick the second.

Donations aren't the biggest factor in trusting an individual, people should be taking much greater care when trading and looking beyond a donation title. Not that it doesn't have influence, or shouldn't be looked at positively because they do matter at the end of the day.

 

Someone could donate like $500+ or even $2000 hypothetically, as at the end of the day they would plan on charging back.. so the amount is irrelevant. Just think Paypal donations aren't the best idea.

I don't think Sythe accepts Paypal donations from just anybody. Furthermore, they would also have certain limits (i.e. $200 max for new donors). Does it leave open some potential for abuse? Absolutely. But then again, if a scammer such as Synful can weasel out 3400M (Approx $1500) from a $200 Donation, the fact that he is or isn't able to chargeback the $200 is irrelevant; he still stands to gain $1300.

Users need to be wary of Donation amounts when making trades. These are sunk costs, and cannot be taken at face value when deciding whether or not a user will scam. For example, JamRsPins scammed 500M, and that barely even covers his Donation, let alone the countless hours, posts, vouches and time he's put into this site. With scammers, logic is usually not their primary currency.

 

Can you link to the JamRsPins scam report? I didn't see he was banned.

I am almost 100% sure jamrspins scammed several bills thru his firecape service but nobody had enough proof.

There was a report on him that matched Previous IPS on his acc if i remember correctly but nothing happened. He was using the "Signing up a FB" to an account and recovering them for items after he had gotten there info already.



Also kevin001 is possibly hacked. so he was banned to ensure the safety of his account.

I never liked him very much (I am sure there are people that would feel the same about me, haha!) after that one time he got banned for precautions or temped for infractions or something and posted that dispute saying that he was about to donate a weeks worth of income but now he wasn't. Just thought it was really childish of him to do that.

Several old accounts popping into the market, i dont know how kevin got hacked tho.

 

Hotmail exploit, recovering the Msn's; old inactive accounts are being recovered, from early years that have good reputation and donator status' etc. I'm pretty sure thats it - i think Punjabi posted it somewhere. Don't quote me on that.

 

The database wasn't touched, it was just a certain blackhat website owner trolling us. The problem is with Hotmail, there is some kind of exploit that Microsoft are taking their time to patch that allows you to recover an email with the recovery email, or something like that.

I would advise anyone who uses Hotmail to go through their security options and double check everything is as secure as can be.

He's obviously a dirty lying cunt. This was probably his whole plan to scam, donate $200, find some unsuspecting newcomer who thinks he's trusted, run away with $1300 in his pocket, profit. Who on earth even attempts to buy 3.4/3.8B @ .60/M?

I hope we don't see this guy ever again, he deserves a permanent/IP ban.
