The only good track Wayne ever produced was ''My Life'' Feat The Game.
Lil Wayne is horrible, imo.

My #1 is Eminem and no1 is even close to him, that are my thoughts.

 

Strong statement. Don't get me wrong, I love Em but you gotta look at his inspirations and influences (Jay-Z, 2Pac, Biggie, Outkast, Kurupt etc.)

Actually, Jay-Z doesn't have anything on Em, IMO... I think Jay is generic most of the time. Listen to Renegade, Jay can't compete with Em in any angle...

It is a strong statement, but look at what Em has done... He was the first & only rapper to win an oscar with "Lose Yourself". Plus look at all his grammys. I have Ems whole catalog, from when he first started rapping to where he's at now, and I got to say, it'd be hard to top what he has done on the mic... 2Pac is a great MC as well, I also like what he stood for, but he was quite contradictive at times, & Idk, I put him behind Em... Maybe if he never died, he would have done more, but since he did, idk... You can't assume what he would have done as an artists if he was alive, he could have flopped just like everyone else, who knows... This is IMO, of course.

Everyone does that. It's not stealing, more like a shoutout, giving someone the respect and props.

But, I don't understand why people seem to be bashing Lil Wayne so hard.. I HAVE been a supporter of him from the beginning, but even I don't give him the title of Best Rapper Alive. You have to respect him as an artist no matter what though. Musically, he really is a genious. You can give someone respect without actually liking their music. For example, I've always HATED Common. But I have to give him credit for what he's done.

My honest opinion of Best Rapper Alive, has to go to Eminem. He's done so much and came from nothing. Mad respect to that man.

 

Lol... Name me some artists who do this?? This is why I don't respect wayne, because of that video... Did you watch the whole thing? That isn't giving props man, that is stealing. He used a whole unreleased verse from aliyyah, a dead r&b singer, and called it his own. I'm sorry, but if you try to make an excuse for this, then you are in denial.... No one else does this.

Everybody knows hes a biter. That's why he's been sued this year a couple times, one for that "How To Love" Beat. He took it from someone, look it up. That not say anything to you?

Also, I don't think he's a "musical genius"... He uses autotune for his voice almost every song, he speeds his verse & beat up to make it sound like hes rapping faster and has a better flow then he really does, and he doesn't even produce his own stuff... How is he a musical genius when all he does is rap about shit that has no substance? He doesn't make his own beats, and theres even speculation that he's had multiple ghostwriters over the years, but don't hold me to that..

 

I agree with many of you about Eminem.

 

Ofcourse these people, except for Jay-Z in my opinion had, and still have a big influence on Eminem, but he takes the most inspiration out of his own life, and experiences.

This is you're opinion, and i respect that, I love Mac Miller either, but how can you put him on the first place in a list of these great rappers.
I think rap is all about the lyrics, i like Mac Miller, no doubt, but he does mostly rap about weed, chilling, hoes etc.
Rap should be about life, but that's just me.

 

If you want to be technical, if it was unreleased, how is that stealing? You must not know how much stuff like that happens. I can tell you know about music, probably more than alot of people on Sythe, but if your being a critic, you have to be open minded. That's something that you are not on this subject. The majority of your reasons for not liking him are opinionated.

Not many rappers at all make their own beats anymore. Not all of them write all of their material, but they're entertainers. Their job is to release music. Their job isn't to do everything else behind the scenes.

Whether you like him or not, he sells. He's one of the top sellers and one of the most powerful artists out.

First, I backed my statement for the musical genius thing, with facts, that are absolutely true--he does those things. And actually, I looked up the song, and it has been released, actually. Quite popular, just haven't heard it before. And even if it wasn't released, are you saying that is still not biting? I mean, hes using someone elses lyrics... Either way, it's biting, don't make excuses for it. Plagarism is plagarism--Didn't fly in high-school, shouldn't fly in hip-hop.

I wasn't bashing him for not making beats, I just was saying I wouldn't call him a "musical genius", if he doesn't have the all-around package. I know a lot of artists that rap, make the beats, & mix & master the track...

And I have been open minded with this opinion that I don't like him. I have listened to a lot of his stuff, I used to think he was alright back in the day, but now I think he is just a puppet of the industry. Never did I think he was the best rapper alive, though. With that said that I have listened to formulate an opinion, I know that he doesn't have a extraordinary flow, or lyrics... He's subpar, which is my opinion, but whether I like him or not, he is just not the best rapper alive... There are a lot of rappers out there, man, and he's nothing special... I'm a hip-hop head, and I rap myself, and I base rappers (i'm not the only one) off the categories such as delivery, flow, rhyme scheme, lyrics, etc, and he just doesn't stand out in any of those categories..

Eminem is and always will be the best his lyrics are unbelievable and you can feel his emotions in all of his songs.

People will always have different opinions on their favorite rapper since everyone hears music differently through their own ears.

If you want to get technical though Eminem, Jay Z, and Tupac have all had the most successful rapping careers so far when it comes to record sells. Eminem has sold the most records out of any rapper and Jay Z has made the most money out of any rapper.

 

IMO the currently best white rapper (excluding EMINEM's new mainstream songs) is Mac Miller. I also like Chris Webby.

Others I listen to TGOD, YMCMB and the good shit yep.
