Am I the only one?

You need to dig deep for diamonds I thought.

 

Oh you do, it's just some people have very little luck finding them while for others it's quite easy. I can find them easily around lava lakes right at the bottom, although you have to be really careful that you don't fall in otherwise all those Diamonds are gone!

 

On minecraft 1.7.3, the best level to mine diamond is 12.5, as we can't get to decimals 12 is as close as you can come. Also, I find that there is more iron and coal in minecraft 1.8 than previous versions, and less of other minerals. I hope this helped.

Correct! I've noticed this as well, maybe it's more for some people and less for others? It all depends on what technique you use to mine for Diamonds.

 

I always find caverns within minutes of starting to mine, but never any diamond... Just a shitload of redstone, coal, iron, gold etc.

 

Try looking around lava lakes right at the bottom, I find Diamond there most of the time.

 

On my old SP server I found diamond all the time. Not sure why.
