How far would you go to improve your looks?

If cash weren't an issue, how far would you go to improve your physical appearance?

I'm able to afford surgical operations without an issue, so now I'm wondering how far I'm personally willing to go to have perfect teeth.

The surgery I'm contemplating is called a "orthognathic mandibular advancement" surgery, shown here:



Where the lower jaw (mandible) is moved forward, contoured, then secured with a metal plate. Plus braces.

My overbite jettisons 9mm (normal range is 1-4mm), and it causes grinding which is leading to cavities in my molars because I'm weakening the enamel substantially. My hygiene habits SHOULD be enough to keep my teeth healthy, but the grinding is fucking me up.

I think my limit is: if it doesn't do anything to improve a health issue, it's not worth it.

 

For many people Not very Far. 36% of America is obese that should be telling.

 

I've gotten braces so I guess that's part of improving your looks aswell, though it was a necessary one. I wouldn't want to be such stuff as you want that involves getting metal plates stuffed into you etc. Neither would I want to look like the male-version of barbie, so I guess I'd go in the middle.

 

That's interesting, but I mean to ask you personally! I can google a statistic, but I'm curious how far individuals would go if they were enabled to do so.

Yeah, my mother shares that sentiment. There's definitely a level of invasion that she's not OK with, sounds like it's similar to yours. Having metal plates and moving bones n shit is a little extreme, BUT I have been struggling with decreasing enamel and cavities despite my best efforts... The way I'm seeing it now is either I do this more invasive change, or I start losing my teeth at 40 years old... But I would be lying to say it's not at least 40% about the aesthetic improvement to my smile.

 

Not Far at all. As long as im not fat and look presentable I can live with it.

 

If money wasn't an issue and I had the best of the best doctors at my disposal... I suppose, fusing adamantium to my bones would be pretty cool.

But seriously... I'd probably do only minimal stuff. Get all teeth fixed with either implants or veneers. Which can be expensive if you want the best natural looking white teeth and not those that make you look like your teeth are just rows of dentin gum. Its sadly too expensive for me. Roughly go around 150,000$. And probably get a nose job. Fix a little bump. Aside from that, I wouldn't do anything else.

 

I had a stand-in barber while mine was out of town. I'll never forgive him for leaving me to find another barber.....

Anyway, that new barber showed me his veneers that he got from Columbia, where he mentioned it's way cheaper. They looked really good and I considered doing the same. In his case though, his gums were a little discolored from smoking I'm sure, so there was a bit of stark difference between the veneer's polished white and his unhealthy looking gums. It was only visible when he showed me up close and pulled his lip out of the way.

So yeah, I was considering the same, but I decided to just start with braces and mandibular advancement. Maybe veneers later if clinical whitening doesn't work.

 

Oh you can definitely find quality work for a lot cheaper and a lot of people do them in different countries. I only mentioned the 150k price tag in this case if money was no issue and you want to be 100% you'll get exactly what you want.

I too will def, get them done in Europe some day.

I don't want to wear braces, I feel I'm too old for them. And I hate the wait. Want it done and over with.

 

I would just go to the gym. Nothing more, nothing less.

 

If money was absolutely no issue, then 100% get my teeth fixed. My teeth aren't terrible but could do with a bit of straightening and whitening.

Further, invest in a personal trainer that understands me, works to my schedule, and a boxing/MMA programme to tone myself down into a good 8-12% BF percentage.

 

Nothing invasive. I am a firm believer in not changing who you are unless medically required. Love yourself for who you are.

 

Nothing such as surgery or strange tablets, but I'd push myself naturally e.g. diet & exercise.

 

I think it's harder to sympathize as an attractive man, but someone who has a shitty jawline like that might significantly improve his quality of life imo

I already got a girl and am healthy so at this point i dont even care, i am what i am, def not getting any surgeries

 

0 fucks given, I don't care but I do care about being always presentable just because it is something I like but I never do it out of pressure.

 

Before I met my wife she was pushing the 400lb mark from depression. long story short she came out of it and lost over 260lbs but in doing so she lost her breasts and they turned to skin.
It was hard on her so she saw a plastic surgery doctor and had a breast augmentation done and it seemed to help her a lot with how she felt as a woman.

Some surgeries can be for the positive and some are just not necessary
