Way back when santas were 20m, and I was young. Some dick head in full dragon with a santa and whip said having a drop party. So we brings all the people way east of varrock wild in level 1, and starts dropping junk and stuff. So obviously everybody is mad cuz he tricked us saying massive drop party, BUT THEN, 2 pures with ancients froze him and merked him down. I waited on that loot for litterally 5 minutes spam clicking, and I was the only one there. AND I PICKED UP HIS SANTA HAT!!! I freaked out and I sold it a couple days later for 20m, and about a week after I got hacked.. Quit rs for about a year-2 years after that..

 

Have a few. Most recent was:

I had about max cash. I had 1.8B in cash. I wanted a max pile of cash, never had this. Lucster owed me 400M. If he paid me, I'd have max cash. A few days went by, he didn't. He sold it to someone, and I wanted RSGP, he said he could pay via WU if needed. I wanted max cash so badly. I had issues with my girlfriend at that time, and I thought getting max cash would make me happier. It was one of those moments where I said I'd quit if I lost. So I staked, hoping I'd make enough for just max cash.

I lost 5-6 stakes in a row. Got cleaned, quit, and Lucster paid me via WU. Shame Lucster was able to pay me a few hours later, I'd never have staked if I knew. I staked a lot, and I never lost this many times in a row. He paid pretty low for RSGP (.40), so not a lot sold to him, I don't know why I lent him 400M to profit off (He sold it).

 

Well I will make it short and sweet for you all.
It was my first account and i only knew how to make money by cutting yews.
I cut yews from level 60 - 87 on that account and sold all the logs to a guy for like 3m cash (Alot back then when rune was sold in varrock for 150k a set). Some guy said "show me your invy for a bag full of lobsters!!!" and i got happy and showed my invy, went through the trade screen and after i accepted i realized i was scammed hardcore. Then the guy laughed at me and called me names and stuff oyu know how it works...

Needless to say i was 10 - 11 and cried for like 10 minutes.

My first time I was wiped for 1.1b due to RWT. That was a SAD day.

 

This is gonna sound really newb of me, but I was really low and just starting the game and some dude, asked me for help and I got lured and lost all my gear I just bought. FML. Lol

 

My most heart breaking moment was when I gained my chaotic maul about 5 - 6 weeks after dungeoneering came out. I was so proud of my maul and decided to go pking, after around 30 - 40 kills with the maul I decided to go Maul to ags although I didn't realise ags protected over the maul. Died lost my maul and I raged.
Heart break.

So you wanted to risk AGS? Back then it was over 60M easily.

Reminds me of mine. I was DH Pking, with maul as my main weapon. I got hold and used that maul for a few weeks, was epic. I fought a level 110 (Around that level), I was level 122+. I forgot to pray, he risked it and koed me with DH.

 

My friend and I lost about 12-13b each in 50-50 magebox stake splits with the odds of each 500m-2b stake 54% to 46% in our favor.

We ended up cleaning the guy a day or two later. So it goes.

Apart from raw money loss I really hated the ways I lost both of my ccb's: the first one was to a guy who rol'd as he koed me... I protected a dscim over it; the second was to a claw rusher, I kept ranger boots but lost void and ccb. If I'd lost them in fair fights then I probably wouldn't have minded as much.

 

Mine would probaly be when I was trying to get 1xp to 99 agility and I accidently got the level. Made me sad cause it's my best 99 and I had no party .

 

That is a heartbreaker if you did it legit.

Another one of mine is, I was young, I think I was about 8-11. I quit for a while, I come back, I bought a few mil off a website, I think I also merched or something. Anyway, it was 3-5M back when the construction and hunter skill were released, mils were like $4 a mil if I remember correctly. So I was buying law (or mind) runes, there was no G.E at this time. Someone told me that he had Law runes in his house. I had no idea about construction and anything about it, he lured me to karamja. He gave me a shark, and said that the monsters might hurt you a bit. So I took and and continued to follow him. I was about level 35. Then those tribesmen or whatever attacks me, didn't do much damage, but the poison did everything. I didn't have a teleport, that's why I was buying laws. Lost it all.

 

I died to them before too man.. For like 300k and my gnomeball. I was exploring.

 

Lost 17m to a scammer. This was some time ago now.

 

Trusting a buddy with an expanse amount of gold (not to many, but to me)..was about ~65M. Loaned it for a goal of his, never saw even 1 gp back. Live and learn, it is just a game

Back in 2006 got scammed for a Santa, was gutted and quit for a while.

Many, many years ago while I was running through Barbarian Village on my level 3 account whilst wearing a Green mask and having a hefty amount of wealth in my inventory, a barbarian started to attack me.

I tried running but no matter what, the game would not respond to my clicks due to an incredible amount of lag.

I had no idea why I was lagging but eventually witnessed myself die to a barbarian and saw people near that fishing spot start running over to my dead body.

Of course I lost most of my items and later went to investigate this lag.

I discovered my mother downloading movies which caused the absurd lag , so I had a quick cry then drank some cement and manned up and continued playing RuneScape until this day.

 

Got Ratted 2 times and lost 100m all up, pretty annoyed. :/
