Your choice in poison (alcohol)

Recently turned 18 which is the legal drinking age in Australia, just curious into what drinks you all into. Been drinking for a bit before my 18th but mainly been staying around the same stuff.

Secondly; what is your primary reason for drinking, is it a social event? Parties? Clubs? Pubs? Alone trolling sythe on spam forum?

What are your favourite drinks and why, feel free to post american brands and I'll try locate the equivalent in Australia.

 

I'm a bitch when it comes to drinking sticking mostly to RTDs, I need to try out some other brands of beer and try and find one I like. The high sugar content etc in the RTDs disagrees with me and makes me feel nauseous a lot of the time, especially since lowering my BF%.

I pretty much only drink at parties. As a general rule of thumb I won't drink at clubs due to the cost and the whole concept of going to the pub is an old concept that seems to be dying out here (I'm not overly a fan of it either).

Thanks for your input, RTDs (alcopops in AUS) are pretty common amongst my group, all good fun.

As for pubs, not died out but certainly losing the flair; mainly the older generations having a catchup

 

Yeah... That'd do it for some people. Also depending on how quickly you started your next shot. I find breaking shots up by either water, soft drink or a beer to lessen the 'absolutely wasted' effect.

 

I love beer, most of them aside from light and ice varieties.
I always keep a case cheap beer I like such as pabst or high life and a 6-12 pack of some craft beer, usually a stout, bock or hefeweizen although I am partial to mexican imports.

For liquor its bourbon, I alternate between old crow, evan williams, ezra brooks and: buffalo trace. Sometimes bulliet. I typically pour about three fingers, add a splash of water and enjoy. Better if it sat out for ~10 mins or so

I typically have a beer or two after work, occasionally hit my local dive bar and actually get drunk with buddies (or girlfriend) sometimes on the weekends.

 

I drink craft beers and stouts usually. A family friend often gets home-brewed beer and brings it over as well, so I get a fair few different types of beer. Having said that, sometimes the homebrew is too carbonated and it explodes the moment I pop the bottle open.

Often enough I drink various brands of red wine - usually merlot and cabernet varieties.

As for spirits, I actually hate how sweet alcopops/RTDs are. I like good scotch, vodka or spiced rum on its own or with ice, although sometimes I mix things like gin and tonic.

My family often buys liqueurs such as Advokaat, so I sometimes drink that as well.,

 

I'm a rum & coke man, not too fond of beer but I'll drink it at the pub with friends if it's there. Rum and whiskey are my go-to's but I'm not really a big drinker.

 

I laugh at people who manage to get drunk off shots.

Don't mind anything really. If I had to pick a few favs, would be, Stella, Pure Blonde, Old Mout, Jager, Staminent, Malibu and a few others. Generally drink whenever I go out (parties/clubs/bars), which is of recent weekly.

 

Hum, hard choice.

Spirit wise would be a nice gin (Bombay or better) with a nice tonic (fever tree or similar) or tequilla.

Wine - Rioja through and through. Can't stand white wines, other reds are ok but Rioja is just tasty.

Beer - Ale, ale, ale. Any sort that is nice. None of this over-hopped American shit though.

 

Just finished first year at uni, come back with many experiences, but the big one would be Vodka and Jagerbombs.


Vodka, Usually tesco value (Cheapest vodka in the UK) with Lemonade, Coke, straight or anything left over from the night before.

Why do i drink? Socially, nights out at uni.

 

Real ale, hands down. I also like my Guinness.

I occasionally drink craft/local beers when they're particularly good but prefer wine. Mosel rieslings are the best. Being at college, most cheap 40% abv stuff tastes like fire piss, and I try to avoid fire piss whenever possible. I'm sure I'll try expensive drinks eventually but not for now .

I usually drink Budweiser but I do drink vodka now and then when I do usually drink vodka it's most of the time sky
