  For example, in the thread "Is God real?"; "I think God is real" would be unacceptable whereas "I think God is not real because X research suggests Y therefore Z" would be acceptable.​
• Use, to the best of your ability, proper grammar and correct spelling
• Do not respond to spam posts, simply report them using the triangle on the top right of said post
• God arguments will be removed unless the original post contains a reasoned argument

To assist you in understanding the purpose of a debate here are some tips:

Valid arguments can take one of three forms:

• Inductive reasoning
• Deductive reasoning
• Reasoning by analogy

Also be aware of self contradictory statements and performative contradictions:

• Contradiction
• Performative contradiction

And finally, please avoid these common fallacies:

• Proving a negative / Argument from ignorance
• What about the children? / Appeal to emotion
• Ok for me but not for you / Double standard
• True for me but not for you / Relativist fallacy
• It's always been that way / Appeal to tradition
• God/Jesus/the Government said so / Argument from authority
• After this therefore because of this / Post hoc ergo propter hoc
• Chaos will break loose if... / Appeal to fear

I just want to reiterate that this forum is going to be policed more strictly from now on. If you're posting something that doesn't have any discussion value, you should not be posting at all. This includes things like "Yes, I believe in xyz"; these are spam posts, and you will be infracted for them.
