Xbox 360's Next Great Cover.

First it was the big issue of the dreaded "3 red rings of death". (Which they soon covered up with a 3 year warranty).

Well, it just so happens that another flaw has been exposed on the 360. This one is E74 (basically a bad GPU). Microsoft was hesitant on releasing an extended warranty on it because of it "affecting a limited few", but it soon grew to many, and then many more, and so on. So make sure if you have that error that you call in instead of having it fixed somewhere else voiding your warranty.

Xbox 360 is beginning to have to many flaws, and this is from someone who only supports Microsoft gaming.

 

mine had the error 74 i sent it back.. got a new one and then it got red lights.. did towel trick a few times to get it working till the point that towel trick wont work... so i just recently sent it back to microsoft.. anyone wanna buy a 20GB microsoft xbox with wireless controller and 6 games for only £80?

OT: Thanks for the tip feren. Mine hasn't been affected by that yet, and I hope it doesn't.

 

E74: There is high chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip near the AV cable connection) it can also be caused by a faulty AV cable so check that first. In some cases it is a problem with the GPU and may be repairable by doing the x-clamp replacement (see error 0102)

i had to take my 1st two back to gamestop (1st had cracked case, 2nd didn't turn on) and the 3rd had a Lil problem (the back of the case wasn't together, just had to squeeze on it to snap it together, but i didn't take it back) and its still running fine (although the RB on the controller is broken -.-) Its a fun console, just poorly built.

BTW, its been about 2 months since i bought it, would the controller still be under warranty, and would they make me send it back in 1st? (its my only controller)

 

Yes. It's under a 1 year warranty (assuming you didn't open it - voiding your warranty).

 

Yeah, I really like Xbox 360's and stuff, but I guess it might be time to switch to a Playstation 3, or the next Playstation System. I doubt it though, I love microsoft, I just think all of these errors is garbage. I miss playing Guitar Hero and stuff. Fuck, I'm pissed off lol, both of my Xbox's have the RROD and I can't send it in, I have a restricted phone so I'm going to have to do it at my sister's house. Hopefully they make a NEW Xbox 360, with enhanced graphics and stuff, but you can still play and save the OLD Xbox 360 games.
