World War 3

Any sort of conflict in this day and age would be either purely economically based or war by proxy, the use of foreign forces to fight a war for you or to spark a civil war/revolution. Any sort of widespread all out conflict would not only result in the deaths of millions but would probably be more damaging for both sides, especially with the possibility of nuclear weaponry. Anything that happens will probably flare up quickly and subside quickly as well, both sides will see that nothing can be achieved from a long term conflict.

 

WW3 will come out imo and it will be with russia + china vs usa + europe(?).
Usa is always seeking wars, fucking war machine and greedy banks

No winner with nuclear, and other great bombs. Just destruction. It's not cool, kids.

 

No one is dumb enough to start WWIII. That's why we have 9000 proxy wars all the time. The world has to become a much worse shithole before the US and Russia and China and will start actually shooting at one another.

 

Pretty sure WWIII would mean the end of (the majority of) mankind. I don't think it's possible now, at least for a while.

 

With technologies both current and advancing, a holocaust in any particular country is much farther away than in past times.

The idea of energy fields that detonate explosives miles in the air before ever reaching settlement and advancements in robotics at least should mean that world destruction is out of the question as far as the eye can see. In the event of a world war, missiles and nukes will be rendered all but useless. As of now, they're simply for show, being used as tools of political balance in the favor of whoever has the most.

It is my bet that in the event of any discrepancy large enough to bring about a 'world-war', the main tactics used will be those that disable another countries means of survival; hacking into databases, disabling the systems that allow communication and life at the current standard and, of course, bringing out the machinery that protects the home-turf in anticipation of many long, stressful waiting games.

 

There is a term known as MAD Warfare or Mutually Assured Destruction. This is essentially the term used to portray a country who would be destroying themselves by going to war with another country of greater power. Even if a country of great military power attacks one of lesser, the greater one will still suffer extreme casualties.

 

It actually refers to our nuclear weapons policy. During the cold war the US and Russia both attempted to get enough nukes to completely destroy the other. The policy of each state was to respond to any attack with nuclear weapons. So the idea was that neither was stupid enough to attack the other or else they would just be ensuring their own destruction as well.

 

To me with such advanced technology being produced it is possible. Yet again the world especially the us and un are constantly trying to maintain peace so it is also possible It won't happened. It can go both ways in my opinion

 

Certainly but the US is currently holding the world together. It is so much more powerful than anyone else, no one dares start another massive war because they will be royally fucked up.

I dont see the EOTWAWKI happening too incredibly soon. However WWIII could very well be brewing now. Im pretty sure everyone is aware of the mutually assured destruction concept and will not resort to nukes because of it. At this point if ANYONE drops a nuke they are likely to be instantly targeted by the rest of the world.

 

The world can't hold more than one hegemon. Russia is applying military pressure on the US with it's activities such as those in Ukraine and China is applying a lot of Economic pressure on the US. It maybe be the only strong point in the classical realist ideology in International Relations, but it's true that the selfishness of human kind has been the cause of conflict in the past, as will it be the cause in the future.

People always want more and more and more, and this want will never be saturated unless they are the last thing left on this Earth.

 

I was worried about Russia but we circumvented that. I'm more concerned with China. I think the next world war is already happening. In a sense. Its a war for intelligence constantly trying to steal intelligence from each other. One side accusing the other, secrets will be stolen, conflict will be created, and someone will pull the trigger.

 

China dares not fuck with the golden goose. The know outright of they piss us off, we will not pay our (US) debt. They also know war with the US is the worst fucking thing they could do.

 

What? It would be disastrous for both countries.

 

The us mil isnt as strong as you think. China deff has a bigger army. Ive been on 2 deployments if you've even seen half of the shit ive seen you'd know how unprepared the us mil actually is, and china def knows that. The lacking of training is horrible. People dont know what the fuck they are doing after being in for more than 4 yrs. They just in it for the money coasting along because they are smart.
