Windows 10 Megathread

I downloaded/updated yesterday. I've got to say, it looks fantastic. I really like the design. I guess it comes with surveillance issues. However, my pc is only for gaming and web related programming. So it's not really an issue for me, though I'd prefer it not to be there!

 

I just got my update. Seems pretty good so far, no real complaints. Definitely better looking than 8.

 

Well, it turns out CSGO is a no-go with windows 10.. Crashing every 5-10 minutes.

 

windows 10= nsa botnet lulul.

 

CS:GO works just fine on windows 10. It's an issue on your end.

 

I was getting endless crashes, I think it was something to do with SLI. I was getting it in every source engine.

Win10 is great, I'll just have to wait a bit to update again.

 

I'd recommend removing your nvidia drivers completely and installing them yourself vs letting windows install them. Might help.

Nvidia wins out yet again

 

Appears the nvidia experience driver tool doesn't work on windows 10 properly. I had to manually install my drivers from the nvidia website. GTX660

Worked fine on my laptop though lol.

 

Quite an amount of issues I have had after installing windows 10 few days ago.

First off something called Runtimebroker.exe was eating about 10 - 20% of my CPU usage and RAM. I had to go to registry and disable it. Problem solved but took an while to figure out what was wrong.

Another issue was that all of my microsoft office products stopped working and found out they were somehow incompatible with windows 10. (wtf microsoft?)

Then I tried to install Nvidia windows 10 drivers and hell went loose, had to use "restore computer to previous date" cause I couldn't find any working drivers.

 

Upgraded today after enough procrastinating. Took longer to download and setup than I thought it would, and it made Hearthstone crash repeatedly on my computer, I restarted it several times and it eventually worked.

Is there a good "Disable Windows 10 Botnet" guide anyone can link me?
