Most of the major predictions eventually lead to a polar shift, no the world won't end but it would cause large instability on the environment.

its dec 21st 2012 actually lol because the mayan calender ends and other people have predicted it not sure who cant remember

 

If I recall correctly the ancient Mayan calender was actually two calenderS; Plural. It is taught they used 260 and 365 day calenders. These were used in conjunction to create a 52 Year CYCLE (18980 Days Exact)
Therefore I conclude there is no end to the Mayan Calender. If refering to the end of a cycle and beginning of a new cycle: the Mayans feared every single "endcycle" believing their dieties would not grant them another 52 years. This "end of the world scenario" happened every 52 years since then. And it is rather funny to see the Myths it has created. I would not lose a minute of sleep worrying about the end of the world during any further endcycles.
But interestingly enough the Mayans developed their calender well, considering they would generally survive 40-50 years and not see two exact dates.

 

This just in: It's great publicity, not actual fact. Similar to Y2K. It's only the year 2012 because it's the benchmark of the amount of years it has been since "Jebus Christ" died. Supposedly.

 

Who are you to say nothing would of happened on Y2K? Are you aware billions of dollars went into upgrading technology to be ready for the year 2000? What if those precautions weren't taken, who knows what could of happened.

I dont believe it will end in 2012, but if it did, then not because of the mayan calendar. Whoever made the link that when the mayan calendar ends, the world ends, should be seriously examined.
