Why People Do Things
Let's see:
Oprah decides to buy something worth $2.685b, but guess what? She can't because she only has $2.649b. Proof given...

Of course Joe is being selfish!! To what degree his selfishness is can be debated, but of course he's being selfish by following through with his goals and FEELING THE SATISFACTION OF ACHIEVING HIS GOALS! You keep giving examples that just help my side of the argument. You also can't base your argument on a one-line definition of a very broad topic.

Oh, I see. Because there are totally things in this world that cost 2.685B but not 2.649B for her. It all makes sense to me now.

So what's your definition of selfish vs. selfless? Because until you can find me a definition from a respectable source that says you CANNOT have ANY personal, emotional motivations in order to be selfless? If your motivations are for the SUCCESS of an outside group rather than your own personal SUCCESS, than by my definition, that is a selfless act. My examples most definitely don't help your side of the argument, you're just finding bullshit ways of getting around the truth.

Selflessness does not mean self-neglect. And if I can't base my argument on Webster's definition, what can I base it on?

I'm glad it makes sense to you. You said that her lifestyle is unaffected by a $51m donation, but it is somewhat obvious that the donation leaves her with less money to spend, regardless of what she has now.

If you're part of a group, then you get personal satisfaction from the group satisfaction, thereby making it selfish. Check.
Your examples did in fact help my side of the argument. Check.
I never said anything about Webster dictionary. Check.
Selflessness most definitely means self-neglect, if you did not neglect yourself, how can it be a SELFLESS act? It's all semantics. Check

I'm glad I set things straight. :)
