Why do people think EOC will ruin pures?

anyone that likes pking is going to love eoc, even if it means all the clans in the wild are 50 def clans. what should happen is all the clans in the wild get 70-80 def (over 80 def or under 70 def you can't be in the clan), then the fights in the wild would be insane with torags and shit

 

You have only played beta for 5 minutes, yet support it? Yes, I support the current rs because its simple, I don't want to spam abilities while trying to grind out a skill like slayer. And you're telling me that bridding and dungeoneering don't require skill? Both require skill, good timing, and high apm to be successful at. Plus, I have no intention of playing a new game that's really being turned into a standard mmo from something really unique.

 

Will mains be able to attack you in wildy now because of the changes to your combat level? That will be fun...

 

Just because I have only played beta for 5 minutes does not mean I don't know my stuff, check out my UT lol. I never mentioned Dungeoneering but Bridding only requires you being able to quick relatively fast which is lame compared to what can be done post-EOC. Also with training, EXP rates have been buffed for those who just want to AFK train. If by unique you mean a game so simple that a monkey could play it and that you spend most of your time waiting for an action to be accomplished so you look at other websites because Runescape is boring? Well yes that is unique. Other MMO's realized that people want to engage with the game and be swept up in it, which is far from happening with RS currently.

Yes but only if they are of a comparable level so realistically it will be a fair fight more than anything. Consider this:

Pure: 80 attack, 80 strength, 1 defence is 83 CB
Main: 41 attack, 41 strength, 40 defence is also 83 CB

 

Agreeing with Jack Goff, EoC is adding a more realistic aspect to how we interact with players and NPCs on a regular basis. Personally, I feel as though Jagex is moving in the right direction. If AFKing is what someone wishes to do consistently, I would suggest playing a round of Bloons Tower Defense. This update is inevitable as well, not to mention we haven't seen it in it's entirety.

 

The way I see it is, anyone who is 1 def will be fighting other 1 def pures and on the OFF CHANCE, a low strengthed zerker pure. If you consider the fact that def is the only thing that will really affect a pure's combat after the update, anyone with all 99s and one def, will most likely be fighting other pures with a 99 stat and one defence because the combats will mimic one-another. I think if anything it's going to make things better for pures because they won't have to deal with zerkers/range tanks anymore.

 

So simple a monkey can do it? I'd like to see a monkey key a sub 8 occ. also, I heard that jagex are reducing the actions you are able to perform per tick from 8 to 3 come Eoc, so if that's true the game will become slower paced. And bridding requires more skill then just clicking.

You stated this in a separate post, but since it fits the puzzle perfectly. Summoning now affects Combat, which makes Summoning tanks extinct. Personally, I'm not complaining because they would have too much advantage as it would take literally a fraction of the effort compared to any other type of pure or tank.

 

Yeah. Seems that accounts can now get 99 prayer and HP without consequence though. Some people may argue that high prayer is unnecessary for pures but it would make it virtually impossible for you to be smited with 99 prayer.

 

Exactly, common sense rules that if you can afford it since it doesn't effect your combat level whatsoever, then buy 99 and use it to your advantage.
