    We should ban people who are consistently bitching about things not being right yet are part of the problem.

    Staff have been doing great as usual. Admin team do a great job leading by example and it sets the way for the rest of the guys. I've said this for awhile and I'll continue to: the staff team dynamic is amazing. Everyone works together to get shit done and there's no hatred between current staff members. There's always a certain someone who (the idiot above) thinks everyone on staff sucks but y'all are doing great kings/queen.

    Hopefully this clears it up a bit:
    -The default is that offenses that used to result in perm bans now result in DNTs.
    -Repeated or excessive abuse of rules that normally result in a DNT (repeat evasion, significant scams, etc.) may result in a temp ban on top of the DNT.
    -Repeated or excessive abuse of rules that normally do not result in a DNT (excessive spamming, excessive bumping violations, etc.) may result in a temp ban.
    -True perm bans are rare (Chris Kane-type stuff, mostly).

    Can't speak to the official reasoning, but I'd venture a guess to say that it's due to A) the aesthetic nature of having the forum plagued with the banned rank in many places, B) the aim to hopefully have some said members who acquire a DNT repay their debts and reintegrate, and C) the transparency that comes with the DNT rank - in most cases, the DNT rank itself will link you to the relative reasoning behind the DNT, whereas the banned rank did not allow for that.

    Indeed you sir are a winner. This is actually a precise reasoning on why we are no longer perm banning users. We feel the site looks more for a lack of words nicer (?) with members having a DNT rank rather than a grey out banned name. Additionally, as @S has mentioned, this allows members to see the reasoning for the ban by clicking on the DNT rank rather than searching for it or asking a staff member

    I think staff did a very poor job with the recent report filed against Slice.

    If that guy didn’t file a report he would NEVER see his money again. That’s the only reason he decided to resolve the issue with the customer.
    A service provider should do the right thing out of being a service provider, not to lowkey scam if theres a chance to get away with it???? His actions speak louder than his poor words.

    Actually that my fault since I was on mobile and forgot to update the thread when I was on my pc,
    there wasn't enough proof to hold him accountable for the gold but he refunded the majority of the gold and 2 users made an agreement so I decided to let it slide.
    If the 2 users can come to an agreement we can't carry on as sythe staff is court and not police and if you withdraw your case we aren't going to pursue the person. They essentially resolved the issue outside of court.

    We typically wait at least 24 hours before archiving threads so that more people are aware of current/handled reports in-case it may affect them or someone they know who they can relay that information to (and people rarely check an individuals profile/the archives). As far as increasing speed of reports/disputes being handled I'd say the team is quite balanced and doing well in that regard (not saying there isn't room for improvement, but I don't think believe it correlates to staff slacking is my point on that), especially considering how slim the team is compared to recent and prior. Keep in mind staff are people too and have real life obligations outside of Sythe, which especially during unthinkable times like these with this current pandemic going on I'd hope people aren't prioritizing moderation duties over taking care of themselves and their families. Just my two cents on that.

    Goldsacks, rented a staker I'm just a bit concerned as to why this thread has not been replied to yet by a member of staff and others that have been made later have been replied to by different staff, even a wrongly posted thread about a warning for bumping?

    The accused user has still been bumping threads, even his staker rental thread saying it is available. The scam report has been up for well over 24 hours and I think if someone did scam then a lot could be done in that that time to scam others/set up a scam quit especially when someone could kick multiple people off a rental.

    I'm not saying he did scam but surely if you get accused of scamming you would want to clear it up straight away and judging by the post it seems as if he was aware a scam thread would be made about him.

    Just some feedback everything else I have seen has been great.

    I highly doubt staff would be discussing the report without leaving a response on the thread. There’s also no set timeframe of them having to respond within 48 hours, which for sure has been exceeded as this report is the second one made by this guy (other one was deleted because of doubleposting).

    This report has indeed been in talks by staff, just because public posts are not present it doesn't mean it's not being handled.
    The report first started being talked about among staff on the day of the report.

    The report isn't the easiest to handle, as it's a scammer who has also scammed someone in the past, reporting a user with little evidence. But I thank you both for your concern of the lack of staff posts.

    I think that one is actually rather good and could benefit traders :). And it would be good to know your opinions on the suggestions everyone has came up with, thanks :).

    This is far from the truth, and I'm mind blown you would actually say this. I highly doubt the general staff consensus is this.

    There is a lot of value to be had from staff members posting on suggestion threads. Aside the obvious input and knowledge from the relative staff members posting - community participation is paramount, and engaging with the community and allowing for greater transparency where possible is always beneficial.

    Furthermore, staff members posting on suggestion threads, and giving their insight generally aids in furthering the discussion around said suggestion - as many a time, there are facets unknown to the broader community relative to a suggestion, which the staff team can chime in on and provide further information to why a suggestion may not be optimal, or that said suggestion is already in the works, etc.

    Absolutely agree as there are some great discussions and suggestions on that thread alone (as well as many other suggestion threads). After what happened with Azie scam quit you'd think this would be at least sort of a priority or area of interest. Not that the two are directly related, but with other [imposter] scams we see in general. What I was really thinking of were the two recent OMM incidents, maybe more. Shouldn't happen and happens with unofficial MMs as well. UID mandatory switch and implementation isn't a crazy or outrageous idea truly.

    Support more staff involvement on the most liked or most valuable suggestions. Helps drive the direction of discussion and CONSTRUCTIVE feedback is just positive in general.

    Thanks for some insight. Hopefully we can see more from all staff levels.

    please stop distracting @Techie when I am attempting to play games with him... I am sick of waiting 40 minutes for one round of apexs or when we where questing last night he stayed on same step for 5 hours. thanks
