Who owns a dog

Are you concerned about how the dog looks? e.g. does it need to be short haired etc

Then you have to consider how active you'd like it to be. Does it need to be laid back or do you have loads of time to spend walking it?

 

I do not have a dog and I hate the fuck out of people who do because that's all they ever fucking talk about. It's damn sure not jealousy; you can pick up all the shit and piss you want.

Also, I hate seeing people that have dogs yet don't even have their own shit in order.. For instance, a car sitting in the driveway for 3+ years because you can't afford to change the fuel pump since all your money goes to pet food.

If you're not going to vacuum up the hair, don't have a dog. Nobody wants to come to your house to be covered in dog hair and stare at the mounds of it in the corners and up against the wall.

If you're not going to clean up the shit and piss in a timely fashion, don't get a fucking dog. Nobody wants to come over and smell your shit hole all day.

I have a german shepherd, they are intelligent dogs but its best to find one which is registered with a kennel club to ensure their parents had healthy hips and joints. I personally think buying a dog was the best decision I made. If you live with your parents it would be best to check if they are fine with it my dad did not like dogs but now he's changed so much and gets excited when he sees my dog. I personally believe a well trained dog brings a family closer together but if both your parents have a heavy dislike toward dogs it can be difficult.

If you buy a dog I'd recommend putting him into obedience training when he is young or right at age the obedience class allows them to. It is worthwhile to invest into obedience training if it is your first time. They teach you a lot of useful things and thanks to it my dog never even bit any of my furniture even while she was teething.

When I refer to owning the dog I clean up after it, take her for walks, pay for her dog food, pay for toys and everything else. In total I've easily put in over $3000 alone on dog food in the last 3 years about 400 for the spay(neuter) and probably another 2000 or more on grooming, toys, medications, vet visits and other things. The food is expensive because my dog gets the best quality food I can find and fresh boiled chicken. A smaller dog obviously will be nowhere near what I spend on dog food. My dog is an 80 pound female shepherd she weighs more than a male because of the protein I give her but on average a shepherd will be from 75-85 pounds and king shepherds are over 100 pounds easily.

It seems like a lot but most of the major expenses are over with in the first year. After te first year its really just vet visits, food, and the occasional toy you may buy.

Old english bulldog one of the cutest puppies you'lll ever come across one of the best dogs before my current bulldog i used to have a black labrador which is another great dog! before you buy one buddy take into consideration how much your breed , Sheds, their medical problems for example my bulldog has breathing problems which we had to take care of so you need to think of these things ahead and the shedding my bulldog has a really big shedding problem theres always hair everywhere so research your breed to make the right choice

I used to have a lab/springer spaniel when I was very young but it turned vicious with my sisters and I so we had to put it down to keep us safe.

But now we have a miniature Jack Russel and it's one of the smartest dog I've ever seen... (excluded uber smart dogs from youtube and what not)
I wanted a staff, but I'm not unhappy about the dog I got for Christmas because he is amazing... I used to dis small dogs but they are waaaaaay cheaper to look after, my dog eats 1 food can a day, my friends dog eats about 4 a day and it's shits are the size of my dog!

 

Ye one thing I don't like about big dogs is the fact you spend so much on dog food, I personally have my dog for security reasons so it would make sense to have a larger dog but if I were to get a 2nd dog it would definitely be a small-medium sized dog. My dog eats a 40lb bag in about a month most small dogs will eat that much in 3-4 months. The 40lb bag runs me up about $77 and on top of that she gets boiled chicken mixed with her food. I recommend if you get a dog don't start mixing food into their meals unless you can afford it because it becomes fairly expensive after a while.

Dogs are the best enterainment you can get. I've got a White lab mixed with chow and a miniature Weenie-dog. I love them both

Oh God, I sure as hell wish I had one of those! Wouldn't mind having a full sized one as a guard dog either.

I currently have a Golden Retriever, and I'm completely in love with it. I have never seen something so loyal, so happy, and so loving as my dog. She's literally one of my biggest stress relievers now.

I always used to think that animals were all about eating, and sex. But for my dog, you put a full plate of chicken next to her while I'm in sight, and she comes running to me, rolling on her back for me to pat her belly. That's love.

I feel awfully gay right now.

 

I've owned all types of dogs. Springers, Poodles, Shi'zus, Labs, German Shephards, and currently 2 Shi'zus and a boston terrier. I also work at a Animal Hospital.

Before owning any type of dog you need to remember that owning a dog takes time, commitment, effort, and the major ingredient, money. Make sure when you're looking for a dog that it fits your environment and life style a collie will need to be exercised daily and it's usually agreed upon to be owned by active families. If you're not active then I suggest a calm dog type like a Chihuahua, poodle, bulldog etc.

My ex had two of them. Annoying as gnats. I always wanted one before I saw hers. Currently I have a kill shelter rescue, a border collie mix.
