Who owns a dog

I really want to get a dog but I'd like some input. I've never owned a dog before, but I've been doing some research. Right now I'm leaning towards an amstaff x border collie breed.


So just right quick, who owns a dog.

What kind of dog do you own ?

 

Labradoodle, Standard Poodle + Labrador Retriever

 

I own a German short haired pointer.

Amazing dog and love him to death. Had him so far for 12 years. Truly feels like a family member lol.

 

Is the labradoodle the pup of your other two dogs. That's actually really cool lol.


How much does it cost you a month roughly to properly take care of the dogs.

I have a Jack Russell Terrier- Pug Mix dog named Ajax. He is four years old and we have had him since he was fresh out of this creepy puppy-mill type looking farm . He is very loyal and obedient, he's on the chubby side. Pleasantly plump is how I'd describe him.

Dogs are amazing to have, and Border Collies are really neat, intelligent, and loyal dogs. They also look awesome. Good luck mate.

Depends on the breed of the dog really, my dog is no hassle at all. Though if you take him on car rides he does wine sometimes :laugh:

 

you'll end up getting rid of a dog after 2-3 years. dogs are food, not friends.

 

I own a St.Bernard, bro as fuck.

 

Bear in mind when some of these guys say they own a dog, they mean their parents do, and they just stroke the damn thing for 10minutes in total a day.

 

I have a year old labrador pup. The first 6 months were a total nightmare, no matter what they ruin a lot of stuff as well as messing the carpet.

Bear in mind a collie needs tonnes of exercise as it's a working dog. Be prepared to take it at least two, hour long walk a day.

They aren't a fortune to keep, my dog gets a £25 bag of dry dog food and that lasts a couple of weeks. Although, insurance is £16 a month. Dont risk the insurance, my dog was stung by a bee in the summer and it triggered an auto-immune disease that's cost me (luckily claiming back on the insurance) £2,000 to treat so far.

They are a lot of hassle and I'd recommend getting an older dog to start with, a rehome or what not, to get some experienxe before you take on a young dog.

 

I have 7 dogs. live out in the country and have tons of space fenced in for them to run. I have 2 Jack Russell terriers that stay outside in a kennel. JRT are awesome dogs very loyal and very high energy. Also Have 5 Chihuahuas not my favorite breed of dog by a long shot but we breed them and Chihuahuas bring in the $$$$$$$$.

 

my family has a cocker spaniel poodle mix (aka cockapoo). he's about 25 pounds, doesnt shed and is the friendliest guy you'll ever meet

however even for my mom who has raised two boys, a small dog like him was a constant struggle.

as a puppy, they'll drive you straight nuts. be prepared to make a hundred trips to your local pet store and pick up a god damn ton of dog dookie

 

I do have one dog, 5 years old, pretty heavy about 50-55 kg. Female

 

Can anyone help me decide on a breed. I've done a breed selector and I always get different results.

ATM I'm looking into vizslas.

To give you an idea, filled out a firm, vizslas came first, collies came 18th and amstaff came like 120th.

Any other suggestions?

 

I have 2 dogs. Since I don't really mind what breeds my dogs are, I picked them up at the SPCA. They're really loving animals and I do not regret it one bit. It also makes me feel good that I managed to save the lives of 2 dogs and give them a loving home.

 

Used to have two German Shepard's and twelve of their puppies. No more though, sad times.
