I mean good to bad to the social media in the show, not to the viewer of the show. For example, who would of ever thought Bellick would end up in jail? And Mahone. Although I guess Mahone never really was a good guy. But I don't like how they reused characters for different roles. They should have just left Bellick as the intense prison guard instead of turning him into a bickering criminal.
Yes they may be portrayed as "good guys" because they are working to take down the company and ultimately save the country, however remember that the majority of the group is doing so ONLY because they were offered their jail term being terminated doing so. The only real innocent people in that group were the nurse, Michael, and his brother. Yes Michael broke the law but only to save his brother where the government failed. All of the rest in the group committed crimes that were unjustified acts. You may even argue that the black guy (forget his name) committed his crime to support his family, but he initially broke a law that led to him having to do that (smuggling something in the army which led to his termination).
Very fair point mate. I can understand how the way some of the characters were recycled throughout the show would have pissed people off. I honestly didn't mind it at first - until it got a little out of hand in the 3rd/4th Season. For example, when Don Self completely betrayed the team of cons and you find out his whole "take down the company" thing was BS, I was really upset and pissed off that. I really liked the idea of the ONE GOOD GOVERNMENT character that actually wanted to do the right thing and take down the company. Having the cons operating on their own in the end just wasn't what I pictured/hoped for the ending.
However, other characters like Bellik, I was more than happy to see the transformation in him. I admit, him ending up in prison so suddenly, and then out again was kind of over the top. But right from the beginning I hated Bellik's guts and thought he was such a crook and abusing his position of power. It was very liberating to see him go from that "bad guy" persona, to getting in the shoes of the cons themselves, and in the end becoming a reformed person completely - realizing what was right and what was wrong, and figuring out where his allegiances lay.
For my final point, I agree with what you say about Michael, Sarah, and Lincoln being in a completely different boat as the other cons like Sucre, C-note, Bellik, Mahone etc. in terms of innocence and the reasoning behind their imprisonment in the first place. But the important point is that regardless of whether they are fighting the company to earn their freedom or not, you get to know the characters throughout the course of the show and in the end, you realize that they are ALL
very good people, and that they all have their own reasons for being in prison.
In my mind, those characters are SO much different than characters like T-Bag and John Abruzzi the mob boss, who end up in the prison escape plan just because they have something Michael needs, or because they are manipulative little worms (T-bag). We are all humans and we all makes mistakes, often even doing things we know are wrong when we are desperate to do something for the ones we love. I think the show does a good job touching on this point and making you root for the characters right until the very end - because as a viewer, you KNOW that they are all very good people, and not criminals by nature.
Just finished the first season, interesting show. It managed to hook my attention from the very beginning and I'm curious to see how the second season will play out now that they've escaped prison.
Yeah, Season 1 is incredible. If you could only ever watch 1 Season, I would go with that. Season 2 is where the show starts getting a little crazy and some say that it is even the point where it begins to "go downhill," but I think that is nonsense
Season 2 actually kept me completely hooked all the way to the end. Although the name of the show ("Prison Break") doesn't make sense once the plot shifts and they are out of prison, I think that you will find the story & the characters that are introduced once the cons are out of prison and on the run, is fucking fascinating.
It goes more in depth to "the conspiracy," which is probably the most complicated and thick part of the show's plot, as well as the characters back grounds, what landed them in prison and what type of people they are. The suspense is also
unbearable at times, as they elude capture over and over again by such a narrow margin.
Fucking great show, just writing this post is making my panties wet for it again

Hope you enjoy Season 2 mate!
