Who can you really trust here?

So i was looking to sell some OSRS gp to a guy called Name is Rob. Seems like an okay person, account is 3 years old and has a decent amount of vouches from big gold sellers.

I was ready to do my trades in 10m increments and then he's DNT this morning for scamming 2 people.

Fuck me it's like either you sell your gold really cheap to the most popular gold sellers or fuck off with trading random normal users. I've been a member here for soo long and i've never scammed anyone or even tried to lowball. I've been scammed once but it's crazy how many there are now.

So my question is, who do you sell gold to? (200m+)

On a serious note, though, if you're selling gold - I'm buying.

Honestly, in the end you can't trust anyone. Anyone can scam, even if they have over a million vouches. Most will do it if they know they can get away with it, and some will do it even if they get caught.

 

Everyone does same prices these days, if the price is outstandingly good its a scam. And trading with newcomers will end up costing more due to middleman fees (unless you use free ones which is risky too)

You can't trust anyone, but basically make sure that what they lose from scamming you is more than what they gain tbh.

That's quite a statement you are making. Yes a view big names ended up scamming aswell, but I still believe the vast majority of people with a big name on Sythe would never even consider scamming even if they could get away with it. I consider myself in that group. It goes against everything I stand for and people who do this make me sick.

This is basicly what I first used when I got on the forums and never got scammed by looking at it this way.

OP, you have to assume that everyone is (capable of) scamming. It boils down to paying a small fee to have a very trusted middleman (I like having Mods as MM, or an OMM) or looking at the other person(s) and deciding what do they have to lose? If you're selling 200m+ I'd look to use a MM because every time you trade you're taking a risk.

Just remember this golden rule: Everyone is a scammer, but how much will it take to make them one? (That doesn't go for everyone, because we have some very honest people in this forum, but give 100b to just about anyone and they'll be seein' ya in the next life).

 

OMM's don't cost a lot. Use one if you really care about your trade. And next to that, as already stated, carefully look at ranks, miniranks and vouches. Good luck with the situation though.

 

Honestly vouches from big gold sites mean little to nothing because you always go first and theres almost no way to scam them.

You can trust me~ Years of drama, constant shit in the SF, disliked by the majority... but never banned for scamming. Not in it for the money (I earn more than the majority of you lot irl anyway)

 

The big gold seller vouches he had means nothing. Its just saying he went first to them, then they paid him. Nothing about those vouches means trust.
