What's Up With "Third Party Software"?

Alright, here's the deal. Jagex says that players can't use "third party software" to gain an unfair advantage over the other players. Now, a lot of these programs and bots you can get for free. You don't have to be "special" to acquire any of these. Bots are posted on here, SCAR is free to download (same with scripts), and there are programs available on rscheata. My point? How is it an unfair advantage if ANYBODY could get them. The only "advantage" is people who know more about cheating than others, but that will come with time as you explore the cheating capabilities. Being a SCAR user for a while now, I remember when the Lumbridge forest wasn't full of autoers, and the yews behind Varrock Castle were free of those pesky lvl 3's. But do I really and truly care? Does it really bother me that much? HELL NO! (Besides the default lvl 3's, i report them whenever i see them) I don't see how it's so much of an advantage if anybody can use the programs. Jagex says "Secondly, macroing ruins the game for everyone else. We don't want some players having an unfair advantage and filling up all the best training spots with bots. This game is designed to be enjoyed by humans, not bots. In the past, when we have not enforced this rule, we have rapidly found it quickly spoils the game, and players themselves start demanding that we enforce it. So now we enforce it thoroughly." When I think of best training spots, I think of fire giants, dustdevils, and experiments. I have never seen autoers at fire giants or dustdevils, and I only trained on experiments for a very short time on a pker. The main point here is this. Jagex takes autoing too seriously. If everyone can use them, why is it against the rules. I do realize that they ruin the economy, but prices go down in time anyway. And think about this. You cut yews for money. You sell them for 300 ea, but a few months later, the prices go down to 200 ea. You say "Oh darn, this sucks." But now, you AND the autoers have to sell at that price. They don't get a price advantage, just quantity. (But you could do it yourself) Here's another thing. Jagex themselves use bots to monitor gameplay. To look at messages, they use automated software. (Another post here talks about that) They use automated software to monitor irregular mouse movement. I think the people at Jagex are hypocrites, using their software but not letting us use ours. So that's how i feel about it.

Feel free to say whatever you think. Flame me, praise me, whatever you want. But this is in the cheating forum :D

That's only when you find a single yew tree not surrounded by 30 balds in green pants streaming to the next yew when available.

Why would they in their right mind want to encourage third party software... It not only creates more security problems for them because of keylogging programs etc but also it isn't really a game that you "play" anymore if everyone is just auto playing...

Maybe you should just think about why for a few moments and you might figure it out.

I didn't say they had to encourage it, just make it legal.:D And thanks for throwing that out there. I just wanted to see what people thought about it.
