What would you do after being hacked/scammed?

I've seen a lot of people quit after being scammed/hacked, however I've also seen people come back after losing bills due to the uselessness of jagex account security
Someone on my home world was recently hacked for their blood staff of sliske (sos is 2.3b, and iirc blood dyes are around 3b) multiple other dyed things, full raids armour, all their overloads, and their entire bank was wiped. That didn't stop his playtime at all, and he still plays just as much as he did before

Personally I like to think I'd be unable to come back to rs, that'd be the end of it and I'd just throw my accounts up for sale. Especially if I was hijacked via abuse of the account recovery system, they get it once and they can get it again, jagex won't do anything.

 

yeah, I'd quit too. Especially if all my bank would be wiped via hijacking. Maybe come back in future, if at all

 

I guess that depends on how long it took for you to earn that bank. If i was hacked back in 2007 and I lost my 50M or so I'd probably quit. That took me over a year to get lol. Now with how fast you can make gold I don't see a reason why you should quit.

I've been scammed like 1b when I came back to RS3 years ago, I quit the same day I came back

 

Most likely I would take a break depending on how much I lost, then come back and rebuild. No one quits runescape, they just take longer breaks.

 

I know alot of ppl who quit for over 4 years now and never once said i miss runescape

 

Honestly I’d quit as well after all that effort and such. Really no point in jumping back into it. Depending on how much you lost of course

 

I'd definately quit but most likely return at a later date.

Being hacked is near impossible if you have your account locked tight, you're original owner, and you don't get keylogged.

Getting scammed sucks but I used to still come back to the game. I've grown bored of the Runescape aspect in general now though so eventually I quit playing for pleasure, just not due to scamming.

 

Been scammed countless times and hacked ONCE due to leaving my account logged in at an internet cafe (Dumbass me) lost 500m+ Always told myself id quit but always end up coming back.. lol

 

Yeh, Just quit or buy gp and start over.

I've probably lost $5k over the years from hacks and bad staff members. You just pick up your skirt and move on with your life. If you can't handle it, RuneScape isn't for you.

 

I've been hacked for around 500m. One from this site, I used their questing services then didn't change my passwords. Which is why I never opened reports since ya know, didn't change my password. Anyways, you rebuild. I also got hacked for 200m (So 300m from this site), and I quit originally, just now getting back into it.

 

I've lost a lot numerous times, always went back This is how life works

I've played RS for 11 years and never once have I been hacked or lost my own accounts out of my possession. But if it WAS to happen and I lost everything, I'd probably wouldn't quit. I'd be more inclined to wanting to find/fix the issue resulting in me being hacked and then making sure it doesn't happen again.
