Things would be worth a lot less ingame, and gold would be hard to come by. You would run into issues with supplies for skilling and bossing, and the duel arena would likely not have a tax. Personally it would be better for a legitimate player who likes grinding and making their own gold. For a lazy person it would be worse and probably make people not play the game as some hate grinding. Goldfarmers, not including botters would love it and make more than they already do. And botters would be out of the picture, so ya. @ChinaNumbaWon what's your opinion?
I understand your standpoints, passive income is always good to have though. Not to the point of making millions, but at least enough to get by happily. But ya I agree that bots are a nuisance, but they keep bonds as a thing and twitch codes and all that jazz. So realistically they still get a bunch of money from bots... who knows with jagex being "transferred" to a new company head.I'm obviously an ironman so a lot of what you said doesn't affect me whatsoever. I think Runescape would be better off with less bots, but some bots would are needed for bringing down prices of supplies. It's pretty clear that the botting problem is out of control. You watch any of Sir Puggers videos and you see that they are literally everywhere. I think Jagex would be able to add cooler stuff to the game as well if they didn't have to consider the need to counter bots.
I've been a botter since 2009 probably, but it was only in the interest of leveling and providing gold for my own account. Nowadays, I bot strictly ironman accounts. I think this is the best way to go considering the fact that it has literally no affect on the economy or Jagex. Ironman constantly have to compete with bots for content like Skeletal Wyverns. It's quite annoying and to be honest I'd much rather have gold farmers doing that because at least it's a real person you can interact with. Plus, at least the gold farmers actually need the money. I imagine a lot of the big farmers are from first world countries where they could get an actual job and make money.

Jagex sold for $530m Jagex was sold to a gaming company a week agoI have not heard about any transfer. Maybe it's a good thing lol.
I don't think Jagex has handled things very well in the past honestly.

Worse. Imagine the shittiest grind ever and most items would be overpriced as fuck in the GE. Hated how the prices of iron ores, logs rose cause of the banwave.
I personally believe if there was no bots the game would be played very much so like an ironman by almost everyone if not possibly dead.
Potions/food/resources would SKYROCKET in price.
Imagine trying to make/buy 200k dart tips the bars/coal for 99 smithing etc.
That's literally how the game used to be and how it was intended.
