Hey guys, thanks for reading.

Ever since the previous school year started I've been waiting for summer to start. I've always had a hard time sleeping and waking up so summer was a dream. The school year sucked as all my closest friends moved away and a girlfriends betrayal sent me into a depression for months. I felt so cold and that I had nobody. I dreaded school and couldn't wait for it to end. I don't get picked on or bullied. Nobody harassed me, I just felt lonely all school year. 3 months before school ended I made the desicion to leave school and do school online. My only regret at that time is leaving my one close friend who I had grown to love over the year as we became closer friends. Then the school year ended and summer started. But I've done nothing. I haven't seen anybody or really gotten out of the house. I've been a loser and just been on the computer and watched tv. I don't know what to do with my life. I want to enjoy myself but I don't know how. All of my hobbies cost money which I don't have ATM. And my protective parents keep me from hanging with my friends. I'm scared this will be what my last 2 years will be like before I start college. I feel like I'm just a waste and my life has no point.

as you i had this problem when i was in high school i just felt like there was no one for me, most of my friends after high school went off to college in other states and i really didn't have anyone but seeing as you think your life has no point it does, well everyone's does, as you said you have depression you could talk to your parents about it and see if they have any advice but depression can be a rough thing to go through, as medication can usually help or in worst cases therapy, but maybe you just need to sit down with yourself and think what you need to do next, as depression could lead to worst thing like suicide which is NEVER the best choice no matter what...but if you ever need anything my skype is davidfrailey.ts and we can talk about whatever just to get your mind off of things

I'm sorry you're feeling this way :(

Have you thought about maybe getting a part-time job over the summer? Not only will it get you out the house but it would introduce you to new and interesting people. Also you said that you can't afford doing the things you enjoy doing, so working = money. I was a rut for quite some time, I relied on the computer for my social needs and eventually I was forced (by my dad) to get a job, and I must say.. Working may be work but its rewarding, I made new friends and I even saved up enough money to come live in the UK.

I think it would benefit you too.

I would do exactly as Divica suggested, if you get a job you'll feel more motivated to get up and do things, and you'll also have money to do what you enjoy. Why are your parents so against you hanging out with your friends? Unless your friends did something like drugs I couldn't see why it's such a big deal.. It's hard to just snap out of depression but changing your life little bit by little bit you're able to make a big difference in the future.

Thanks guys, you're all awesome. Perhaps I was a bit unclear. I'm not depressed anymore. I got over it a few months ago. I basically told myself to stop being a bitch and slowly I got over it. But I became very bitter. I realized all the bs you get in high school is pointless and even if your friends betray you it doesnt matter because the drama will not affect your life, girlfriends are short flings to satisfy the temporary lust, and the only things that matter to me should be and are keeping my family close and only care for my family and graduating high school. After I started living life with that mindset I didn't get involved with drama or any other social bullshit. I still had friends and stuff, but it's one of those friendships where you feel weird about planning plans with them. But now that schools out, I haven't talked to anybody recently and I just feel lonely.

My friends don't do drugs or commit crimes, my parents just don't like me hanging out with people they don't know. I would invite them over to my house, but my house isn't picture perfect. Drawers are missing from the cabinets in the kitchen, the tables are cluttered, we have junk in the garage. Not to mention I have 4 brothers, one of which is autistic and likes to ask new people a thousand questions about where they live and what's in their house. So I feel too embarrassed to invite anyone over and since my parents don't meet my friends, I can't even hang at their house.

I've actually applied for a couple of jobs but I've never heard anything back. My best bet is to work at a local supermarket since my brother works there, but he's security and family can't work there when he's a security guard. I have to wait a few more months for him to get promoted to a manager before I can work there. :/

Once again guys, thanks for reading and replying :)

Look man you have a great summer ahead of you. My motto is "do something BIG!". I too am in high school and am aspiring to become a business man. I create ideas and solutions to problems everyday. It might sound lame but it keeps you active. And the best part is you can turn your ideas to reality and create a business.

High school can be though sometimes but listen. You have the potential to do big. You only have to go and DO!

I'd honestly just keep trying for jobs, or social networking - Go out to the movies/Bowling/any quick social activity man. But if your parents won't let you out much, it's gonna be tough.

This is another depression issue, thus I can give the EXACT same advice as I gave the other two guys who have been suffering from depression. Also Chloecat and Div have both given great advice too.

A Job. It'll give you money and a purpose, the two things it appears you are lacking, which have a meaning to you.

I think what you really need is a sense of purpose and direction if your life.

I just finished school and I had 4 months off till University begins in September/October. I couldn't wait for the lie ins, and days off and doing nothing all day. After I realised this doing nothing made me really really depressed. I had broken the same routine I had had for 13 years of my life and I didn't have a daily purpose of job. I was at a really big low, and I too thought I was overreacting. However we NEED to have a purpose to go on each day, thus I asked my Dad for a job at his firm, and and was more than happy to have me working and not wasting my time.

Right now I am still working, and I love having a daily routine and purpose and I feel normal again. I use my PS3/Sythe/RS much less (as my day is taken up by other things), but I still get a few hours in the relax and enjoy myself, so it also becomes more of a novelty.

If I were you seeing as you dropped out of college recently, try to find a job. If you already have a part time one, try to get a full time of so you have a daily routine, and you will be earning money at the same time.

I know EXACTLY where you are coming from as I have had a pretty rough last 6 months. The whole being banned issue is a mental block you have, as another distraction/thing to do has gone out of the window, thus you are finding yourself empty again.

Trust me, try getting a job and get a routine/purpose back into your life. Let me know how you are getting on, always up for a chat if you need one :)

Personal experience, I am very happy right now, despite finishing school a couple of months ago and leaving behind everyone who has been around me the past 6 years, some even 12 years. I think less of them now I have other things on my mind with my work, and the money means I can still meet up and do activities with my friends from time to time, which makes those moment mean even more as they are novelties.

If you are struggling to find a job after 2 applications - Keep applying! Somewhere will need, or even more importantly WANT you, but it's just up to you to find that place where they will take you in. My fellow office members are basically my second friends/family. You create new bonds there too, just like being at school/college.

Enjoy life, but to enjoy it you need to have a place and purpose. Feel free to add me on Skype if you ever need a chat!

The only person who's stopping you is yourself. No one else.
So why don't you try to over come your fears and be a little more social? Things will be better for you if you do.

we are all lonely sometimes, but don't say those negative things about your self. you're a smart guy and you have loads of oppertunity. you're young bro. i suggest to think about posts of DivicaSales. you need something to do that makes you busy. Try to find a job, have a little workout at the end you will find friends. I would always say, friends come and goes and sometimes it hurts to the inside. But i'm sure you're strong enough to make something beautifull in your life. You can do it bud!

Yeah bud you are in a situation similar to one I went through. Honestly what you need to do is get a job. I started out simply working at a jewelry store, repairing clocks and selling random shit. Was a pretty crappy job not to mention the pay, but at least I was doing something with my time and making a bit of money in the process.

You'll start to see some 'growth' in your life, might be small but there will be. Eventually you'll start feeling better. Socializing is much more important than you'd think. Spending your time inside, basically just watching tv, maybe chatting online, really does drive you crazy.

Cheer up man, there's no storm that never ends.

Have you not met any friends online? Or thought of getting a easy job for some cash?

I haven't really made friends online. I didn't quit school, I'm just doing all my classes online. I guess I gotta put up with these next couple of years and wait till college. I'm sure ill be happier then.

Start bodybuilding or go box, karate or mma, self development will lead you to obssesion to get better, self confidence, and overall better health, and you will start seeing results(mental results),and you will eventually become more healthy, and get objectives in your life, like get better in bodybuilding or fighting, and u eventually start following dreams and everything just comes in place little by litlle, life leads you to many great things, and little things can turn your whole life around.I have problems with depression,im on AD,but whats really helping me so far is I feel all the goals i set,and not the medics.Get your ass up and do it,that get up is mentally most hard part especially when ur depressed, but well,if you like to sit at home and be depressed, maybe you deserved to be a whinning prick sitting alone at home without any goals in your life whinning at only friend you have a computer, maybe you are too big pussy to do anything, you were born to fail in your life, thats why you will never achieve anything in your life, you choose.watch "CT fletcher" on youtube.I aint hating or anything,im not even gonna check back this post at what you reply so dont bother to reply cus i just wont see it,you have 2 options, choose which one is you.

I would do online classes if I could but I can't. I'd recommend taking on volunteering or a job as it helps you do something with your life (volunteering is very satisfying). Also try using teamspeak servers to get to know people. Or a very social game is minecraft if you join a server and its forums. Get friends on Skype and have some fun. I've seen people get married through meeting on minecraft lol.

Thanks guys :)

I've recently found some stuff to actually do lol. I'm studying to get my permit (it's sad that I'm 16 and still don't have it :p) and I'm finally going to be able to start working out again. I haven't worked out since school ended (about 2 1/2 months ago) Right now it's more of a decision if I should get equipment for home or join a gym. I'm still close with my best friend and I've been talking/video chatting/snap chatting with her. Which makes up for the fact that I rarely get to see her. And I told myself that if any of my other 'friends' really were friends they would at least send a text every once in a while. So, I suppose leaving my former high school behind really showed who my true friends are. And it's not like friends last beyond high school anyways. I've also been looking into colleges and I'm actually excited for the new school year even if all my classes are going to be online. I'm really set to focus on school, get high SAT scores and everything. I figured that college will be a lot more fun than high school and I should study hard these next couple of years. I guess you can say I've been looking on the positives for things for once. I've also found a neat little thing to do in my spare time. And that's to learn how to program. So I'm gonna make the most of these last few weeks of summer and get set for my junior year. :)

Your only problem here is yourself. No one can make you want to go outside or talk to people that decision is up to you. Let go of your feelings towards your ex girlfriend, if she loved you she wouldn't have hurt you and why would you want to be with someone who didn't love you? You can't force people to love you that's something they need to feel on their own or it's not real. Your friends are probably not even worried or thinking about you because you drifted away from them for a long time now and they probably didn't expect to hear from you in the summer. You need to start making adult decisions, do you want to be alone all your life or do you want to start making friends and have adventures and have memories? Start off small and get a job, I'm sure people your age who do the activities and fun things that you want to do, work so they can pay for them.
