I know a little bit of Java. I've attempted to make a couple RSPS', but they were ultimately shattered due to financial issues.

I also know a bit of HTML and PHP. But I'm still learning

Probably because you don't know what the fuck you're doing nor have you ever developed anything worth speaking about.

To that moron talking about Go, please eat your own words. Go has about as much of a chance at surviving as the retard mentioning DrScheme.

Actually I do not like it because it exposed too many low level implementation details that the programmer should not have to deal with for most programs. Abstraction is king and C++ breaks it all the time with pointers and things. I'd rather use a higher level language with a smart compiler to get it to be efficient than C++.

What languages do you (sort of) know?

I've learnt C and some more internet programming since my last post here, which has certainly helped a lot with creating plugins for games or java applications
Ex) Investing three hours of my time to understand XML was totally worth it.

Yeah, pointers can go to hell.
Java was my first and only object orientrd language
I've thought about C++ but now that I have a decent understanding of how valuable abstraction is, no thank you

What languages do you (sort of) know?

I work as a software engineer for a living, so I have some skill in a ton of different languages, for the most part though, my job consists of C#, HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

    But a more comprehensive list:
    Java
    C# (+WPF)
    VB(.Net)
    ASP/ASP.Net
    Javascript
    HTML
    CSS (LESS and SASS)
    Assembly (Primarily Debugging)
    C/C++ (Some legacy/low level stuff)
    Python (For quick prototyping)
I probably am leaving stuff out, but meh.

What languages do you (sort of) know?

Well html and css is extremely easy.
I don't know all tricks but I can manage to apply them fairly quickly. If have something in my head for a site I can do it in html and css.

Java is something I am getting in college now, about 8 hours a week and really getting the hang of it

    Javascript I know basics

Bash, I know some basics too.

What languages do you (sort of) know?

    I excel in Java, but I am proficient in C/C++ & C#.

I also know HTML5 & CSS, but I don't really count those as languages.
And I know a bit of JS & PHP.

    Edit:
Different languages are used for different things, and C++ is definitely not low level lol.
Each language has it's ups and downs, but any competent C++ programmer could optimize their code to outperform any Interpreted/Hybrid language.
Yes, JIT compilation does help, and most of the time your code CAN match the C++ counterpart, but don't assume you can ALWAYS match it.

Now, with that out of the way.
Most applications don't really require that level of control, so I understand where you're coming from.
Personally, I prefer Java. Because most of the time, the speed it let's me develop at is worth the switch.

Html/Css a bit, used to use Visual Basic a lot before, particularly for classes.
