What is your religious stance?

I've been raised to be Catholic, but I have many mixed views. I don't see myself as a religion-follower, I just believe what I believe. And I don't take offence to or of any other religions; I don't understand the point.

I am most definitely an Atheist.

 

I don't fall under any religion, I just simply choose not to believe in anything (whether it be in a god or not in a god). I don't even think about these types of things, as no one will ever really know, so it's pointless. I just live a good life and do what's right, and whatever happens, happens.

 

This. Been one since I was actually 8. Yep even then I was thinking about this stuff and made this decision since then.

 

I guess I'm still figuring this one out, but I definitely believe there's something out there, and whether it be God or something else entirely, or even nothing, I don't know and I don't think anyone can really know for sure. Maybe that's the question that gets answered when we die, but again, we'll probably never know for sure (at least until we die).
As for a religious stance, I can't ever bring myself to a firm choice without thinking about all the possibilities. It just overwhelms me to think about how small me were; we're inconceivably miniscule on the Universal scale. I think it's incredible how we're perfectly trapped in our tiny little star system. Personally, I don't believe there isn't anything beyond our Universe, but what I am certain of is that the truth is something greater than what any of us are capable of understanding.

I do offer the possibility of a deistic god, but I believe in a personal god to the degree that I believe in the Easter bunny. It may not exist but there is no proof that it doesn't either, so one must take the scientific approach and say it can't be disprove but may be highly unlikely.

Agnostic. High christian background in my family, pretty sure i'm the only one that thinks this way. But if I had to pick a side, athiest. Mainly because, like malakadang said, there is no empirical evidence to say otherwise. But I like to keep an open mind for the possibility.

 

wow dude your views on Hinduism are just gross. I used to be a Hindu (now self proclaimed atheist) and you don't know shit about reincarnation, or the caste system, which aren't even related. Don't talk about certain subjects that you are lacking in knowledge in. Your basing your whole idea of Hinduism under one large spectrum of the caste system, which is a social structure of ancient India not in any of the beliefs of Hinduism. You probably think that I am blowing up over no reason, but stereotyping is actually a big deal.

 

You are blowing up over no reason as it wasn't meant to be taken literal as the exact representation of the religion. If you would read what I said in the correct contextual sense then you would see that I was just using that as a general example. I could have said that if Buddhism is true then you will be tortured until your debts to society are repaid then you will be able to enter paradise. It isn't like I was trying to falsely represent that as exactly what Hindus believe, which you seem to think - as I said it was a generality.

Also if my knowledge is correct, even though abolished by law, the Caste System plays a huge part in Indian life so your assertion that the system is an ancient one is incorrect. The Caste System is still argued by scholars on whether or not the Caste System is an integral part of Hinduism, so it all depends upon certain views.
