What is your motivation?

When I first joined it was mostly for something to do just an occasional post here and there but now that I have been here for almost 2 months I feel like I'm going to start trying to become an active part of the community. My motivation is to hopefully meet and chat with some decent people and find something to enjoy in my spare time.

 

Good to hear so many peoples motivations and why they continue to use Sythe.. Anyone else have something to share? what would you guys change, in regards to the cons of the website?

My life sucks, so I lurk here and there.

Otherwise, I'd be out living life more....

 

I enjoy being on forums. I love meeting new people and learning things from them. While I haven't been here long enough to see the negatives, I've seen a lot more positives than most forums (friendly staff, helpful community, different perspectives, etc.).

 

Good to see that response, Hopefully you stick around. I have to agree on the community and staff side of things though, PS I am from the Gold Coast.

 

This community motivates me by supporting me. My painkiller addiction was getting worse and I have tried cold turkey 3 other times but without support, it was unbearable. People here made me feel welcome.

Yeah some people will troll and hate me but the fact that 99% of this community will support me makes me cry.

12 days sober and I feel great

 

i have been here for 6 years although i may not get involved i am always lurking and checking up on the runescape forums, i love this place always have

 

hopes that it will move away from rs and become a hub for other games.. just awaiting my time till then,

 

To each, their own. Personally I think runescape will be the backbone of sythe for a long time coming.

 

I'm a forum whore. Gonna admit it. Not going to be the biggest poster etc but I'm on the forums whenever I can be just chilling .

Only Joined about a week ago yet I've been actively looking on the forums as a guest for quite a while, especially in the private server market section

And thats my first motivation , I really want to help re organise the private server market area as scamming there is a daily, even hourly occurrence. So If I am able to just offer one trusted service there I will be happy

That's good to hear, it's always good to see new members being proactive within the community. I hope to see you around more often,as far as offering a trusted service hgoes - ou houldnt limit yourself to the private server market! I wish you the best of luck though. Also are there any cons you've found on sythe? Do the pros outweigh the negatives?

 

The pros easily out way the cons. The only con is scamming and that isn't in anyway Sythe's fault. And scamming can be stopped with the proper precortions . So yer loads of pros like: a great community, fun to work up the ranks etc

100% agree with you, but no matter what forum you may seldom, there will always be scammers. Personally, I believe there is nothing that could accurately stop scammers, but there is no limited capacity you could take as far as precautions go.

Also; being a new member, how do you feel the community "accepts" you?

 

They accept me like im new to the family , really welcoming, treating me exactly like everyone else which is what I wanted

 

getting a reputation, money, something to do

 

i like to help people while earning a bit of $, everybody is nice aswell and since im a rsplayer i meet pkers aswell.

At the moment, I'm finding my motivation is rising, I have seen an increase of productivity within the forums, and a lot more new and active members!

 

Motivation:
- this community actually feels like a community
- people telling me that I'm doing a good job (massive motivation)
- people are willing to help each other
- members generally have a good sense of humour
- members very very welcoming

 

I tend I agree with all but the last statement.. Hypothetically, if a new user were to roll on into the spam forum; it's a whole other story.
