No problem guys. Everybody should definitely know the boundaries before they trade, and I encourage everybody to read this.

 

so... by the fourth rule, we can't do anything, only warn ppl on sythe that we got scammed.

But, if you get scammed by a person that was doing a service (fire cape for example), its ok, because its not paying for jagex-owned stuff, its paying for someone's time, right?

 

What I mean is that you cannot take legal action. The administrators and mods of Sythe can issue bans and regulate it as much as they can, but one user cannot sue another. Also account sharing/trading is against the rules RS rules as well, this includes paying somebody to do a fire cape job.

 

i learned a thing or 2 on this. thanks for the information on this. i dont buy a ton of gold or anything but still decent info to know just as a reference

If you fax over a contract and they sign it then the contract is void, but in some countries you need an eye witness of the signing, possibly webcam the signature lol

It's obvious you can't do anything legally since this is prohbited by the rules Jagex has laid out. If you're doing any big trades, always use a middleman, preferably an official middleman. I got scammed a few times, so I'm going to use an MM/OMM before trading anymore for a while. At the moment I'm just collecting RSGP for the hell of it. I have a measly.. 4 mil, and I'm just going to goldfarm using decent methods.

Wrong. You're trading RSGP for IRL cash, which is prohibited. If you're talking about having someone gold farm on your account? That's illegal as well because account sharing is prohibited.
