wBOT - My Experience.

I just downloaded wBot a few hours ago the scripts work good. I started killing chickens for feathers. I was watching and after I got about 200 feathers my account logged out. When I logged back in I was cleaned of over 200 feathers and now I am poor!!!!

 

I cant believe it. Ive never ever botted and downloaded wbot today! Inbetween my own post about it not working and now Ive been logged. Ive lost 10k ess and 1k flax, my account was at the top of the tower in lummy. No lie no joke, luckily i lost only about 24hr work and it isnt my main. I cant believe how corrupt RS is.

Everything I've done to test has indicated that this bot is safe.

Using Wireshark/Windows Network Monitor I've yet to see wbot send anything malicious. It connects to the wbot website(when its not in devmode) to authenticate your wbot username/pass, it then contacts runescape/runescape servers to download the client and connect to a server. From then on I haven't seen it connect to a single IP that doesn't have to do with runescape. Have any of you monitored the network traffic associated with wBot and witnessed it sending information to a suspicious IP or seen it send anything other than wbot user/pass to wbot.nl? If you have please present this information, its called EVIDENCE.

I've looked through the code for multiple reasons, while it is obfuscated I've yet to notice anything that seems suspicious.

I've looked at several scripts that people claim are malicious, none of these scripts contain any code to even obtain a password let alone send it.


Please, if you make a claim like this present evidence. If you were hacked its your fault, installed malicious software or had your information stolen by other means. Deal with it, you're not a security expert so don't act like it.

 

Okay if I had read this thread when you posted it, it would've saved me so much depression and anger >.> I lost about 2m worth on osr and now im 100% sure that it is wbot. The same story of babysitting and logging in wiped just happened to me 5 minutes ago. I decided to use this bot because it was from trusted people but turns out there was a keylogger or something in the client and not the scripts. I was actually useing my own cooking/fishing script for quite some time (3-4 days)
Dgc, I do infact understand java/viruses and it is extremely easy to add a key logger in a jar file and have it come up as a clean file to most AV's. I don't have any evidence because I alreaddy logged in from my pc without taking a screenshot

 

God this thread is stupid..Only one post made sense....I monitored in going/out going connections as well, nothing but runescape when in dev mode, It could be a script, but it would have to be open source, and contain the code while being open source(wouldnt last very long...) People also claim JJ hacked them with his RC bot, not even a chance. I keep 25-30m on my main 07 account, not an issues period. I bot 7+ accounts with them. No issue. You posted no proof, you "speculated" (followed the ongoing trend of blaming the newest bot for your gold gen downloading problem)..

 

Okay, go ahead and open up wbot.jar. Care to show me the keylogger you're talking about? I don't care if an anti-virus won't pick it up... I do care that this file you're talking about simply doesn't exist.

 

I dont have enough time to decompile and look through every class file to check, but by logic I am sure this is the reason hundreds of people are getting hacked. Im not stupid enough to download "money generators" off youtube or input my details onto a phishing site.

 

Your right, you dont have time to find something that doesnt exist..that would take forever..

 

Interesting read. I used wBot the first day it was released, for about 20 minutes. I ran a check on my computer 2 days ago and it was fine.

I'm about to clear wBot from my CPU and do some backup.

Well you're speaking to somebody who has taken the time to dig through the .class files and use Wireshark/Windows network monitor to look for malicious code/connections... neither have been found.

And no, logic does not indicate that wBot is at fault. Rs2007 is very popular right now meaning its a huge target for malicious actions. People are getting phished, people are getting infected by random programs, people are being infected by RATs, people have already had their information stolen months and years ago(plenty of lists out there). There are many ways for people to lose control of their account... But wBot has no indications of being a culprit at the moment. Logically its safe to say that people have fallen prey to any of the above and simply blame it on wBot because its the newest change that they've made to their usage habits.

 

As much as I want to believe everyone who is searching the files from Wbot and saying it's safe, I'm not taking my chances with it.

 

My bot has flashed, like resized then closed or something. The bot benefited me significantly, made about 2.5M nearly and decent stats. I have a bank pin/guardian etc so feel secure-ish.

Whats the best course of action from here, with respect to security?

If a script is listed there (assuming the bot is safe) then it's most likely safe since those are looked over by the developers.
But if you download a script just posted on the forum, it may be malicious so you should look over the code.
