Also... Maybe the reason they're getting their website attacked is because they took the wrong person's bank. Thoughts?

Alright folks this is my two cents. I've been using Wbot for a week now and I've yet to deal any problems besides downtimes of the site and client. I will keep my experience posted on the thread if anything is to happen.

 

I too find wBot very suspicious. I had never been hacked before using wBot, I even used my own script. Luckily I had my cashpile, fury and so forth on my other account.

Hey guys I heard that September 11 and the London train bombings were actually orchestrated by wbot

 

I never thought wBot/wBot scripts are malicious since i have used it from it's launch, but before they went to maintenance i lost my wc alt's bank, 1k magic logs which is roughly 1.1m, its not that much but still i lost it, good thing i never botted with main. I used only tChopper & upMansmasher scripts with alt. Gonna give one chance since its free exp but not gonna do any goldfarming. I ran it in VM and didn't download anything to it while botting.

Care to enlighten us on how to successfully scan .class files for a backdoor? Other than with our eyes, which many of us have done and found nothing.

 

Got hacked, lost 1.3m. Just started playing rs again 30 days again (I know because my membership just renewed) and I have not installed anything but wbot.

 

So, I've read this thread and I'll also give my two cents.
First things first, I'll give you all some more background info about wbot:

• It was originally designed for 2006scape
• Webjoch is dutch and he's just an ordinary kid
• Every script submitted on wbot is checked by the staff
• It is open source, check the site when its back online
• Most of the scripts are open source

I also see a lot of people here stating that their wbot client closed itself. Now I can tell you that if wbot had something like that in its code it would only do it after a certain task. It is unlikely that it's implemented though, however it can be true. You can try to do some test and try to trigger it, if it is not in the code it is impossible for a client to do something like that by itself, wich would mean that there is a RAT or any other piece of software that take control of your computer.

Then, if you think that some of the scripts are made to steal your information, go ahead and check it. Most of the time the scripts are open source and even those scripts are getting accused of hacking accounts.

There are lots of people claiming that they were hacked after using wbot, if you dont know anything about it, or if you haven't checked and excluded everything else, just don't point fingers at it.

 

Hi guys, I haven't posted in this thread in a while due to the fact I feel disheartened to read posts claiming that my story is fabricated and that I'm an ignorant troglodyte with no prior knowledge in computing.

It's clear to see this thread has attracted a lot of attention, I've also had lots of people messaging me claiming to have been hacked by wbot, which is unfortunate.

I understand that there has been no clear evidence pointing towards wbot stealing peoples banks, however there is just far too many people claiming to have had their gp stolen out of nowhere, I think it would be unfair to just turn a blind eye and just completely assume these people are idiots and have downloaded a RAT/keylogger.

I have also seen a lot of people saying they've had no problem whatsoever with wbot, this can only be a positive, however, my views still stand and I know what happened to me was through no fault of my own and I am 100% sure it was wbot.

 

How can you be 100% sure it's wbot? It could also be a script.

I've listed the only script that I used, which was tchopper, however there was been a post claiming that they were hacked by wbot and this was one of the scripts they used, this script is still on the repository as far as I'm aware and it was a highly used script.

 

I'm using that script all the time. Was that the only script you used?
