Vista vs. XP

Vista Ultimate.. same speed as xp :] or even faster?
but, if you get the normal vista
its as slow as hell..
but it has better privacy and protection.

 

People hate vista because they got computers with 512 mb of ram and vista runs like a snail. If you get a fast computer vista is your best friend.

 

yeah it's sad that a lot of people hate Vista when they've never even tried it, they just hear about problems from other people. I have Vista and I love it because of the interface and ease of use. I haven't had a single problem with it, either.

 

Xp, because there isnt any real reason to downgrade.

when i first got vista i didnt like it as it is set out quite differently to xp but i think its cool now that i have gotten use to it

 

XP because it's what I'm used to, and for me Vista has no real advantages. I'd just use Linux if Wine could run many of my games.

 

I dislike it. Used to hate it before SP1.. Now its not as buggy, but I still like XP, but going back to XP would be annoying too as I have gotten used to the about 5 steps more to do EVERYTHING basically in vista... I may like windows 7... D:

 

Go with Linux! Ubuntu 8.10 is out now and it it Beautiful! very fast and strong! Wine is better too now. I think it is even faster than Windows systems now when it comes to running .exe files! lmao. It is true though.

I used to have XP on my old Mac, but I gave it to my ex awhile ago.. so..

Using XP on a Dell..

Never really used Vista so I don't exactly have an opinion on it.

 

Vista Ultimate over Xp any day.

Get a Vista and software issues tend to be less of an issue. Unlike Xp

 

If you have a great PC (like me) then vista will be better suited for you. Especially when It comes to games as directx10 really does make a difference.

Anyway for the cheaper computer vista would not be suitable.

Vista runs fine on my laptop with 512MB of RAM, a 1.4Ghz Intel Celeron and an Intel GM/GMA graphics chipset that is no longer manufactured. If my laptop can run Vista faster than it does XP, I'd like to know what problems you lot are having.

But let's just take a stroll down memory lane to when XP was first released, why don't we? Read the article, it gives a pretty detailed analysis.

 

I got a copy from a torrent program, I'm not sure which, but it was fine, everything was activated already.
