Use a system similar to Reporting Spam for thread closings/title changes

Just a quick suggestion. This could eliminate the need to PM a mod to close your thread or change its title. Just have a button similar to the Report Post button which will create a request thread in a hidden forum for staff, and staff can do the requests in a similar fashion to report a spammer. Have a section tag on the request threads so the mod knows which section it is before clicking.

Sure, why not. Unless it makes the server have a larger load...

 

I don't see it creating an any larger load than creating a thread

 

I support. It'd be easier. Then mods don't have to sort throught their PMs looking for close requests.

Sounds good to me. No more PMing a moderator that decides he's never going to do it and doesn't even tell you that and you wait for nothing. At least with this, you know it'll get done eventually.

 

It has to take the info, and parse a thread from that its self... Meaning its slightly more CPU but I don't know if it would affect the site at all.

 

Yeah good idea.

 

It wouldn't be that much parsing, so I wouldn't seeing it use much more CPU than posting a fairly large thread would use.

The problem being, some of them don't do it.

Yeah this looks like a good idea, no more having to find a mod who's online and then PMing them. Although, like SuF said, it takes a bit more CPU...
