When staff are doing a good job I do thank them and let them know. If you were never thanked it's because you didn't do a good job.
Roary is the only reason your site didn't fall apart 4 years ago.

Hello there,
Let me first start off by saying, I have heard absolutely negative things about Sythe RSPS. I've had a technical core come to me saying that Sythe RSPS is ending up as a dead project and I am not going to name who this individual is because he may not wish to be named for this matter. Sythe RSPS is a dead project. No developer is going to have the motivation to develop for the project if they are not getting anything out of it. It was just something that was put out to put more money in your pockets.
Secondly, let me start off by clarifying one flaw in your rules:
So yes if you repost information providing the original thread still exists you still get permanently banned. The rules are flawed automatically and also another flaw in your rules:
- This rule does not apply to information/photos that the staff have posted publicly on Sythe about themselves (or reposting of the same provided the original thread still exists)
Ok so that means any of your staff members can make up rules that they wish and punish any user for it, that sounds absolutely ridiculous. Practically the staff controls the forum rather than you. This is a major issue. In fact, the only place I've actually seen you posting is the spam forum, I rarely see you handling disputes or even voting on pardons!
- If a user commits any unconscionable act not explicitly in the rules, or has repeatedly broken rules, the staff reserves the right to punish the user in any way
Not only this, how do you tend to have a black market without any blackhat. I have purchased cracked RS accounts from a tonne of different people for botting purposes. WOAH thats a bannable offence. Not only this, certain staff members are unfamiliar with name sniping and yes although I did not like Tmoe in particular I do respect him in somewhat of a matter for actually taking the time and getting rid of name snipers. If Tmoe wasn't an admin then I'm sure KLucius would be around. However since he has temporarily gone there is nobody handling the name sniping cases.
I respect the fact that people are banned for scamming but the truth is you cannot ban blackhat from a black market. It doesn't work out.
-Seraphic
Anyway I'll see ya'll later, goodbye for now, hello to the future!
Strange, I'm quite familiar with name sales and have handled many of the sniping cases thus far. If im not directly handling them, then I give my experience and expertise on the subject to those handling the reports. That's not even remotely related to the OP, which is about ways to develop growth in the Sythe community and issues revolving around it. Discussing your ban status will not make any progress in here.
More like goodbye forever since you cant seem to understand that ban evading isn't allowed, you do it on the regular.
Ok so since the staff team wanted to try and take my ALT account Vietnam95 down no problem. You believe you can take me down but I have unlimited VPN IP's.
Ok MR Island. Or should I say Tony. You say you handle name sniping reports yet I failed to see you handle when the name 61 was sniped. Why wasn't Milotic banned for sniping that name. It was very obviously sniped. You think you can get rid of ban evading but unless you ban everyone on a VPN it's not going to happen.
This just proves Sythe had no idea what was going on within the staff team before he stopped farming and had a surplus of free time on his hands. Roary, literally was the backbone for staff and CDT for a long time to keep both functioning. This was a time when morals were actually followed. I have no qualms with the current staff team, nor am I disgruntled, I'm simply just bringing the issues to light as I have been doing for a long time now. I do it because this is the only way to sway content minds.
@Island During that time I ran into issues that compromised my ability to come online on a consistent basis, but during that time I left sort of an outline as far as how you could use SG without any automated functioning in the time being until one was actually made. It's not hard at all. I'll run it down again for you.
Wheel of Fortune:
Have users post the amount of SG they would like to spend to spin the wheel (ex: 100 sg per spin), the thread operator would then quote their post and roll using the dice roll. The wheel itself will have prizes and nulls. So say there are 20 slots, 10 of those would be null.
It took me 2 minutes to think of this. It's about putting the effort in to actually make this a reality and not just an idea.
Thanks for reiterating the exact thing CDT came up with months in advance before you joined the crew. It may take two seconds to come up with an idea, but there's more than just an idea to build upon. We have to design the interface, code it, make sure everything works, test phase, etc.
Again, these are things that you can talk about all day long that we need to keep individuals involved in sythe, and I agree with you. But it takes more than a discussion, it takes time and other people to get involved instead of just sitting around criticizing everything. We have designed the visuals, now to animate it and place it into the User center is another task on its own. Feel free to hop on the team again and do something instead of sitting around complaining that it doesn't get done fast enough. You can obviously see the long list of Sythe gold changes in one of the chats I had invited you to. The teams are doing their part of the job, and that's as much as we can do. @Sythe is only one man, with so many things he has to handle at a time. I would ask TC to help code but im sure that's something that Sythe would want to do on his own to make sure its done right the first time. And that is if we get his approval.
I tried to gauge interest by those who were on the team at the time (spammed the cdt discord chat) and I got little to no replies or interest in the mechanics, detail, or function of the idea. There was very little I can do in my position at the time with the limited amount of free time I had. You're talking about making it animated, when you could easily have it be manual in the time being, thus making SG less saturated than it already is. It has been months since my departure to little avail, much less mention of the idea or plan moving forward.
So the problem was staff inactivity and the solution was to do all the staffs jobs himself? That’s not a viable solution. Staff needed to be let go new staff needed to be hired. Where was the initiative? Sometimes parts of the site break, sometimes outside my control for example our domain was blacklisted on email services for some time due to a zero day vbulletin exploit that was used to send spam. In these circumstances admin team is required to be resourceful, hire extra staff if necessary, delegate tasks, etc. Also I'm expanding on this point. Roary was willing to put the site above himself for many years. He didn't do it during the golden years, he did it when no one else cared. It was taking you or Matthew months to deal with simple U.I changes. It wasn't like you guys were working on the transition to XF at this point. Roary was not only handling the workload of all the other MIA admins at the time (no offence to those who know this is directed at them, it's not your fault you were burnt out from years of activity), he was also handling the workload that the moderators were definitely falling short of. This was a time before sectional moderators dealt with disputes he was handling almost all disputes and all account recoveries. You provided absolutely no resources or effort into expediting the recovery process. The email recovery system was down for MONTHS and Roary had to manually verify each and every person and sort out a way of returning accounts to their rightful owners. If you didn't thank Roary for being a good moderator it's because you were not involved enough to notice it, not because he wasn't a great staff member.
- Doesn’t want to admit there is a problem and/or hes at fault.
- Everytime someone calls you out and lists points/arguments you never address all their points/arguments when you reply. You tend to pick out one thing and attack them on it and fail to agknowledge the rest.
Definitely not my intention just show me with a reasoned argument what I’m doing wrong and I’ll fix it.- You aren’t here replying and participating in this thread with intentions of being constructive to the forum, you are here to defend your public image and feed into this character of yours that ALWAYS has to be right/the smartest person in the room. Have you ever admitted to being wrong and at fault?
Ok so I can’t defend myself against personal attacks? Get real. Again if you want me to interact with your criticism then you can’t also say “shut the fuck up” to any reply I make.- Instead of having a civilized discussion your in an agressive ‘defense mode’ always trying to bring people down.
what a good idea. Maybe this is some of that civility you’re after.I’ll take a different turn now and focus on problems with the site and not you.
You had an argument earlier to which you said “The rule reform is what the community wants”. Well with that same logic, the whole community wants change. Everyone is trying to help and give you a hand but all your doing is spitting in their hand and walking away.
Anyone is free to make a community poll to this effect.> Remove all these community teams and start fresh.
Infantile wishful thinking at best. The people in these teams are the same people who will reapply and still be in these teams after a reset. There’s no magical pool of high quality skills on the site which will be offer for free if the teams are reset. Indeed resetting them will just breed resentment. See this thread for an example when the staff team was effectively reset.Shin made an argument earlier saying what would we lose and what would we gain. Benefits to starting fresh? You put people on these teams who know what their doing and have the knowledge/skill set to be in that position.
You know how redundant these community events are? Every week the CDT doing the same thing, picking a cartoon/miniclip game with an intended audience of 12 year olds and putting a prize on the line. It’s repititive, same people participating every week, doesn’t get new members and is a waste of time. All these people on PR/CDT or whatever are on these teams for clout. None of them know fuck all and all of them pipe the shit out of their funrank.
A main problem is that YOU yourself aren’t interacting with the teams/leaders but at the same time I don’t blame you, you don’t have time for it. Appoint someone who isn’t a clueless dustpan and you know isn’t wasting time and running a circus.
> Make it easier for banned members to return to the community. Simple as that. Earlier this year you said that blackhat offenses are no longer punishable, yet staff ban for it all the time disgregarding the ‘new rule’. Hell I don’t even think the official rules were updated when the announcement came. Sythe is arguably the hardest forum to return to when banned.
Just compare how other forums handle banned members to Sythe and you’ll get a grasp of it. 6 months to pardon... Pardons gets denied and the person who pardons doesn’t know why. What does that person learn in the 6 months he has to wait to re-pardon? Why don’t staff tell them why they voted no/pardon denied? It’s just like taking a test in school but not knowing what you got right/wrong, what have you learned?
> What is the benefit of having 20 people on the staff team? What is the benefit to having 6 globals? Why are there never no demotions? Sythe is honestly one of the only forums I’ve encountered that when a staff member gets a position it’s almost as if they are bound to it as long as they don’t abuse it/ post every so often. There are tons of members on the staff team that aren’t staff material. They have this mindset of quantity > quality and if they keep their activity up their good for it. They act out of bias and have their own little circlejerk partnerships within the staff team. Thats not how it should be. A main problem is that you aren’t interacting with these staff members or watching them yourself to know the behavior, you depend on your admins. You checking in the staff chat on Discord isn’t doing your homework. Do your homework.
- Updates, we rarely see them. Whether it’s a small update or an update improving QOL of the forum, they don’t happen.
- You don’t follow through. Reddit/Youtube/Twitter/RSPS/Sythe Gold. Recent example, your programming classes. You put a hault to them and said this was a result of lack of interest. Rather than you attempting to bring interest you shut it down.
- The ratio of newcomers to members who get banned is 1:4, perhaps even worse. Now this isn’t necessarily the fault of the staff team but I see cases on the daily that adhere to it. Members who have no debt, time has passed and all their pardons get denied. What do they resort to doing? Ban evading. Now don’t try to riddle me on with that DNT bullshit. It lacks a backbone and we rarely see it work. Richard you made an argument earlier saying that most people have already heard of the forum and choose not to join it. Instead of saying that, why not try to pinpoint the reason why they choose not to join? I’ll tell you, Sythe has a bad rep and known for being triggerhappy when it comes to banning people. This is personally coming from me when I ask members on HF why they aren’t a part of the forums. It isn’t even that but it’s that there is no incentive to join.
I'm not here to make you look bad or tell you what you have to do. I'm trying to help. You can let it go through one ear and out the other. Your choice.

What? Use concise language.First you make a contradiction and then you make a conclusion without actually reading into it, strong argumentation there. To elaborate.
The first quote had to do with you being close-minded, thinking the only thing the PR team is able to do is post on Twitter/Facebook.First you quote my post saying that the PR cant do anything without funding and then you quote my posts which actually confirms that;
You didn't invest your own funds because Sythe was unwilling to; you invested your own funds because you didn't know how to do your job correctly and felt throwing money at people was the only way to provide an incentive. Furthermore, your argument(s) involving Sythe being unwilling to fund whatever you wanted is just another confirmation of you not being able to do your job. Either you didn't provide a good enough argument for why the funds were necessary or you weren't able to develop a plan of action which peaked his interest (I need $X to do Y, which will result in Z). Sythe not providing funds wasn't the problem; you failing as a PR leader was the problem.the Rocket League posts which is me talking about how I needed to invest my own funds to benefit Sythe as Sythe was unwilling to.
What's wrong about advertisements, donations, and volunteering to keep the site alive? It's not like that's ever been any secret. I'm failing to see an argument here.Coming back to the point that I find it disturbing that Sythe relies on money from outsiders to keep his site alive. This isnt a charity site, it's his company.
Yes. You and many others have proven how good you are at doing so, but I digress. Also, like I said to Richard, making claims based on nothing is easy.
Not be you. Done."Think outside the box", make a concrete example of what a PR leader can do when Richard is rejecting to give any funds.
Well, let me begin by saying what everyone else keeps saying to us: It's not my job to your job. Then you quote my Rocket League post and talk about how big of an ego I must have. If you actually read into it I wasnt even going to mention it but Richard decided to make every possible attempt to dodge my question and instead went for a small part I edited out of my post. He still hasnt answered the question which I just layed in front of you as well: what would you do without funds as a PR leader, other than spamming social media which has turned out to be a complete failure. Are you going to pull a 'Richard' and not answer / go off-topic, or are you actually going to answer?
Okay, great. You spent €2,000 EUR on promoting the Rocket League forum and getting users to join Sythe. Thank you for your contribution. I can't help but wonder how many users registered as a result of your efforts and how the funds were actually used. Since I'm feeling generous, let's say that in that time you were able to get 100 users to register. Now, that makes the average cost of user acquisition €20 EUR per user (€2,000 EUR / 100 = €20 EUR if you're slow). Does that seem to you like a good use of funds? Was throwing your money at individuals the best and most efficient way to acquire users? Was it the only way to acquire users? I think trying to complain about how Richard wouldn't provide you funds to do this is completely unreasonable and what you did wasn't even unique. It was a stupid response to not being able to do your job. If Richard wants to wipe de anus (s/o @Gen @Leslie) with $100 bills and hand it over to new users who register, I'm sure he'll let you know when he's ready to make that kind of commitment, but until then I suspect he can find a better way to use available funds. I'm also interested to hear how you went about user retention after those funds dried up, but I'm guessing you'll just blame the CDT or staff for "not doing their job" instead, right? With the €2000,- I was going to talk how I as a PR leader, pretty much single-handedly, got the Rocket League forum active by investing in the rarest in-game items and then solely promoting it here on Sythe.
Well I'm sure glad you spent your money instead of Richard's.As you can see I had to spend my own money to benefit your site.
I think I said a lot more than that, but perhaps you should remind me. Try addressing the points I made, as I took the time to "do my job", instead of trying to summarize what it you set out to accomplish, but failed miserably in doing so.Funny, I say it's not my job to give you a detailed report of an issue, suggestions to fix the issue as well as a pro/cons list to ge this site going (which is your job to make the site successful. I'm just a regular member and I have no responsibilities in that matter) I'm told I'm ridiculous.
What? Now you're saying it's not your job to make sure things are running smoothly.
I'm well aware of my position and think I do my "job" quite well. If you have constructive feedback on what I'm not doing correctly and might want to do in the future, I'm more than happy to take it into advisement. However, trying to assert the site is "where it is" because I'm "not managing (it) well or at all" shows me how clueless you really are. You're just another person who wants to complain and point fingers and that's all you've been able to accomplish with your posts thus far.You are the manager of this site in a sense. The reason this site is where it is is due to you not managing well or at all.
During your tenure our average online users (not guests) was ~200 during peak hourNow you're saying it's not your job to make sure things are running smoothly. You are the manager of this site in a sense. The reason this site is where it is is due to you not managing well or at all.
I referred to Richard's statement that its the PR's job to "spam the social media". Thanks for confirming you think Richard is close-minded.The first quote had to do with you being close-minded, thinking the only thing the PR team is able to do is post on Twitter/Facebook.
As I said, come up with things people can do. We already used Richard's tactic of spamming the social media which was and still is a complete failure, we contacted other forums which lead to nothing, we made an event which Richard didnt care about so couldnt get off the ground. I could continue really. The second quote does not in any way confirm the PR team can't do anything without funding. It has to do with your continued cry about how you invested your own time and money into promoting a single forum, which arguably goes against what a team should be doing as you acted as an individual.
Yea, yea more of the same. As I already said in my post before its easy to shout "you suck", but how would you have done it mister wise guy? If you know so much of PR why havent you done anything? Is it because you are incapable or is it because you too cant think of anything good that can be done without the support, both financially and by aiding, of the higher ups? As I said, we couldnt get money to do things, we couldnt get approval to do events we planned out. Not much left we can do when Richard rather ignores the PR team then aid it.You didn't invest your own funds because Sythe was unwilling to; you invested your own funds because you didn't know how to do your job correctly and felt throwing money at people was the only way to provide an incentive. Sythe not providing funds wasn't the problem; you failing as a PR leader was the problem.
It's starting to get a problem the moment Richard expects people to do things for him that cost money, without any use of his money. "You shouldve found members willing to pay for my advertisement" or however Richard formulated it. Lol are you kidding me? It's your site, who in their right mind would be willing to give the PR team money to promote your site. That mindset is totally off. What's wrong about advertisements, donations, and volunteering to keep the site alive? It's not like that's ever been any secret. I'm failing to see an argument here.
We did a fundraiser, it failed. However, I'm actually capable of coming up with thoughts of my own and how we might change things for the future. In addition, I'm not someone who tends to ignore answers or not answer questions, however stupid they might be. So, to answer your question, without funds as a PR leader I would probably look to first create a plan of action on how to actively promote the site. If in that plan of action funds are needed, I'll try to think of a way to arrange a fundraiser or raffle which might involve assistance from the CDT in order to engage the community. We might be able to work together and arrange co-op events or tournaments even, where a percentage of the sponsor's money goes toward a PR fund so something listed in our plan can be paid for. We might even try to reach out to other well-established communities, to see if they are interested in trade-offs (neutral cost) so both communities may flourish. It's similar to being a part of a team on Twitch, where the team is a group of streamers who will host each other or try to promote one another in a way such that growth becomes possible. You may need to start off small, but without first establishing a plan you really have no reason to be doing anything else.
Good thing you agree with me that Richard's "spam social media" strategy is shit.I'll also note that trying to "use social media" can actually be effective. However, when that only involves a Twitter or Facebook account being created with 0 followers, trying to assert social media doesn't work really makes you sound stupid. No shit it's useless if you're trying to promote Sythe with dead accounts.
Your suggestions earlier shows how much of a genious you are. But to answer it. Just to make things easy for you, as I know things can be rough for you, I'll compare the €2000,- investment to Runescape. Lets say I bought a set of party hats on Runescape and only sold them on Sythe. Because of this a lot of people come to Sythe because they know the rarest item-set in the game is being sold there. As a result people get to know the site and some join it.Okay, great. You spent €2,000 EUR on promoting the Rocket League forum and getting users to join Sythe. Thank you for your contribution. I can't help but wonder how many users registered as a result of your efforts and how the funds were actually used. If Richard wants to wipe de anus (s/o @Gen @Leslie) with $100 bills and hand it over to new users who register, I'm sure he'll let you know when he's ready to make that kind of commitment (and kill the site in doing so). I'm also interested to hear how you went about user retention after those funds dried up, but I'm guessing you'll just blame the CDT or staff for "not doing their job" instead, right?
Whoops forgot to include this in the earlier quote. Hope to have informed you enough, sir. What I don't think you realize is that paying users to use the platform is a negative, as they should be paying you. However, Sythe is a forum (not a business) and users aren't customers. If people want to use your platform, then you shouldn't have to pay them to use it. Moreover, if your platform is actually good, then people will just tell each other about it. In response to this, Richard, staff, community teams and myself are being blamed for users not taking it upon themselves to spread the word and refer users. How does that even make sense?
if you're just going to convert sythegold to miniranks then why not dice miniranks?well I agree with Wonderland on the sythe gold part. didnt read into much else. but lately I been dicing a lot and see lot of people dice Sythe Gold. I ve asked a few people I have diced with like what can you do with Sythe gold and they all say no clue. I think reworking some type of reward system would be beneficial. maybe add some miniranks specifically for sythe gold. Idk just seems pointless to be there and have a section in usercenter when it has no use. Maybe it does have a use and I just havent read about it.
if you're just going to convert sythegold to miniranks then why not dice miniranks?
