[RuneBTS] Runescape Behind the Scenes - Fansite Development

We're working on a new Runescape 2007 fansite called RuneBTS (Runescape Behind the Scenes). We will have a ton of quest guides, databases, tools, and much more for the average Runescape player.

Fill out the red parts on this form and post it here. We will use that data on our item database. More databases coming soon.

Blupig is working on a program to do this automatically (fill in queries and run them, to automatically fill up the database). For now though, the more we can do manually, the better.

If you know street prices of ANY items, please post them. This can be a range (i.e. 40-50gp), or just a number (i.e. 50gp). Prices will fluctuate, so if the price changes post a new one!

As for things to do, updated the original post with some tasks that we currently need. As I get more coding done, more things will be added (i.e. new databases will soon be added, guides will be needed, etc.).

Cutting the item pictures out of the screenshots would be a lovely gesture as well, it would suck to have to do all of them by hand

Cook's Assistant

1 quest point; 300 Cooking EXP; ability to use the Cook's range for less chance of burning items.

Items needed:
Egg; Bucket of milk; Pot of flour.
All items are acquired during the quest.​

To start: Talk to "Cook". He is located in the kitchen on the ground floor of Lumbridge Castle.



1) Tell Cook you will help him gather the ingredients for his cake. These are an egg, a bucket of milk and a pot of flour.

2) Pick up the pot from the table in the kitchen for the flour. Follow the north path from the Lumbridge Castle courtyard and then head northwest. Just after the chicken farm is a field of wheat; pick one. Go inside the windmill to the north.



3) Climb to the top floor of the windmill and use the grain on the hopper.



4) Operate the hopper controls to grind the grain in to flour and go back down to the ground floor.



5) Use the pot you picked up from Lumbridge on the flour bin which now contains your ground up grain. You now have one ingredient for the cake.



6) Head back along the path, this time east, and cross the bridge opposite the field of sheep. Go north to the chicken farm. Pick up an egg from the floor. Alternatively, kill the chickens until an egg is dropped. You now have two ingredients for the cake.

7) Pick up the bucket in the corner of the farmhouse, this will be used to collect the milk.



8) Follow the path south until you reach the gate to the cow field. Milk one of the dairy cows on the west side of this field. You now have all of the ingredients for Cook.



9) Run, or home teleport (found in your spell book), back to Lumbridge Castle. Speak to Cook in the kitchen to finish the quest.

10) Congratulations! You have finished the Cook's Assistant quest. Cook will reward you.

 

Looks great Roary! We just need to work out sizes for images, and ways to rate the difficulty of quests.

Looks dece, I feel like I need a ruler or piece of paper to match up the columns of information with the corresponding item on the left though. There's too much space between the picture/item name and the information, and no border lines to aid in that.

 

I could definitely add borders to the tables, so a similar setup to a forum index (www.sythe.org).

 

Sheep Shearer

Items needed:
Shears, 20 wools.
All items are acquired during the quest.​

To start: Talk to Fred the Farmer. He is located in a small farm in Lumbridge.




1) Talk to Fred the Farmer to start the quest.



2) After starting the quest, pick up the shears on the table.



3) Go to the sheep pen just outside and shear the sheep for 20 wools.



4) After you have collected the wool, go to the Lumbridge Castle, climb up the stairs and go to the room with the Crafting Tutor in it.

5) Spin the spinning wheel and make 20 balls of wool.



5) Walk back to Fred the Farmer to finish the quest.

Congratulations! You have finished the Sheep Shearer quest. Fred the Farmer will reward you.

 

Keep them coming! As soon as I'm finished with my user system and item database (the system, not necessarily the items in it), I'll do a quest system next.
