Two kidnapped sisters found alive, fugitive dead

(CNN) -- Adam Mayes -- accused of murder and kidnapping in a case involving a Tennessee mother and her three daughters -- has died, FBI spokesman Joel Siskovic said late Thursday. The two sisters he allegedly kidnapped were found alive, law enforcement sources said.
There had been conflicting reports about Mayes' fate since he was found suffering from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound in Union County, Mississippi.
Daniel McMullen, FBI special agent in charge in Jackson, Mississippi, said that officers with the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol and state Department of Fisheries, Wildlife and Parks rescued Alexandria and Kyliyah Bain, "alive and unharmed."...

The mother and one child were found dead days ago. I'm glad the other two kids are alright at least.

Im not sure how i feel about this whole thing, tbh i really hate when things like this happen to the so called perp of the crime ends of killing him or herself because it leaves no closure to the case or the victims. IF he truly believed he was their biological father it may have been just a mentally unstable man trying to have a relationship with his children which in any case is an admirable intention. This whole thing is a shame, im glad one of the children survived. I wish the guy hadnt taken the easy way out and we could have maybe learned more about the cause of the incident

Yeah, apparently they were in the woods when they were found. He shot himself as the highway patrol were closing in on them. Sad stuff.

Hate hearing stuff like this but it does happen often. I hope they can recover but I just can't imagine what they had to go through.
