TWC for pardoned members

Not necessary in my opinion. If it is thought that the user in question will likely scam again they aren't pardoned in the first place.

 

We stopped doing this a while ago, and I don't really see the need to start doing it again.

 

Shouldn't have been pardoned in the first place. That's a rare case, though.

 

I think it would be fair to TWC pardoned scammers, let them atleast gather 5-10 vouches before you know that they can be a bit trusted again

 

Like an infraction? I feel like that's fairly frivolous too.

If a user is pardoned here they are effectively given a clean slate - a complete second chance (see the high number of pardoned users who are now quite well respected on the site.)

Conditional pardons were added and removed before your time.

The point of a pardon is that the staff team as a whole comes together and decides that a user is of absolutely no threat to anyone on the site, in any way. We accept nothing less for that reason. There are not "pardon with TWC" cases or "pardon with market ban" because if a user cannot be trusted to conduct themselves as we expect all members to, then they don't deserve to return at all.

 

i think another issue would be that it may tempt people to ban evade more and not even bother pardoning as they don't want to be hit with a TWC right off the bat

not a bad suggestion imo though and mootrucks had a decent point, maybe show their pardon on their profile for x-months

 

Just noting a few things before I close this thread:

If a member is banned and receives a TWC or previously had a TWC, this remains, even after a successful pardon.
If a member is banned and doesn't have a TWC, we don't apply one as a condition for a successful pardon. There is no middle ground, we either fully trust the person back on Sythe, or we don't.

And my final point, not all pardons are for scamming. Being hacked and the hacker scamming is a great example. We wouldn't want those people with a TWC, unless they purposely put themselves at risk, as it's the hacker who committed the offence. As we don't allow disputes over 1 month after the offence, older hacked bans are pardoned instead of disputed, which would (according to this suggestion) leave them with a TWC.
