To Atheists.

"Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist." - Stephen Hawking

Easiest way to put it.

Just going to throw this out again. Hawking is just as intelligent, if not more intelligent than Einstein was. Einstein wasn't sure what started it, and he also leaned towards the idea of gravity.

I lol'd hard.

@Sacred421 Einstein once said that he isn't as smart as everyone makes him out to be, he just spends more time thinking about one problem than anyone else.

It's not about the big names in science, it's about the general consensus amongst the educated: that the Big Bang is the cause of the Universe.

this guy is making more sense then most people, athiests use that "give me proof of god" thing constantly. I want proof that god isn't real, and don't give me the big bang theory or the evolution theory, that doesn't disprove anything. Again im not christian but i do want it to be known that god isn't and entity but more of an excuse for people to act right in life, it gives them fear that their actions will be judged. now if you actually look at it from my point of view its simply a reason for people to have hope, there is no way to prove his existence or disprove it.

The reason I like vini's post is because he actually has an intelligent argument rather then most atheists that just say "there's no god, if there is a god show me proof." this isn't a biased opinion on atheists but it is how most of them have portrayed their argument to me irl. I don't get why athiests make it a point to denounce religion, it basically has no purpose. we all have opinions and you cant say if yours or anyone else's is any better anyone else.

Intelligent argument? Where?

You're contradicting yourself here. If God isn't an entity as you put it, but merely an "excuse" for people to have hope. You're basically saying that God gives believers fear that if they do something wrong, they will be punished, but nothing more than that. That basically means he is just like a fable and fables are fiction.

I'm an Atheist, yes, but I don't denounce religion unless provoked. Christians can quietly believe the crap which is known as Christianity and I won't care, but when they attempt to enforce these beliefs while giving no evidence and instead using points like "oh Einstein admitted it!" that aren't backed up by anything, I state my views. Moreover, Einstein himself has said "The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weakness, the Bible a collection of honorable, but still purely primitive, legends which are nevertheless pretty childish."

I believe in the flying spaghetti monster.
'coz if the Christians can believe in little shit who runs around gettin' pissed on water, then I can believe in the flying spaghetti monster.

^above.

You can go right ahead and believe in the flying spaghetti monster, nobody is stopping you.

I'm saying that there is no heavy evidence of his miracles.
A book isn't enough for me.

Remember it's still just a theory, and not an accepted fact. So before some of you people starting attacking other theories that retains to God, remember they're all theories.

Wikipedia said:
In the sciences, a scientific theory comprises a collection of concepts, including abstractions of observable phenomena expressed as quantifiable properties, together with rules (called scientific laws) that express relationships between observations of such concepts. A scientific theory is constructed to conform to available empirical data about such observations, and is put forth as a principle or body of principles for explaining a class of phenomena.[1]
A scientific theory is a type of inductive theory, in that its content (i.e. empirical data) could be expressed within some formal system of logic whose elementary rules (i.e. scientific laws) are taken as axioms. In a deductive theory, any sentence which is a logical consequence of one or more of the axioms is also a sentence of that theory.[2]

You can't observe God, so there is no theories pertaining to him.

And now we're going to go back to English. Bear in mind that we're using sophisticated modern translation technology.

Original passage said:
"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restores my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anoints my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."

After back & forth translation said:
"The 'Roy, I do not want green fields: he leads me beside the water, to make me even more: that the correct paths designated driver, so even though I'm afraid to walk in the valley of the shadow of death I do not bad for you with me your rod and thy staff comfort me prepare a table before me in the face of my enemies rub my head with oil; to negotiate Kobe tell me .. pity it is absolutely necessary to monitor all my life: I'm winning the meeting.

Analysis

- Jesus could have actually been called 'Mr. Cheese' (Lord > Roy).
- Whenever the Bible refers to righteousness (a lot), it is actually talking about riding horses. (designated driver)
- Entirely new Bible characters have been invented accidentally through translation (see 'Kobe').
- Hell may actually be a wonderful non-stop tea party ('goodness and mercy' became privacy violations...).
- All houses are meetings, and vice versa.

And the most shocking one...

- The Lord could have been rubbing 'heads' with oil and doing 'bad things' with his 'rod'. Also, it doesn't tell us what he does to the 'face of his enemies', but I've got a good idea  Religion is so hypocritical, isn't it?

It's not about the big names in science, it's about the general consensus amongst the educated: that the Big Bang is the cause of the Universe.

Ozaki, the Big Bang Theory does not actually say anything about the "cause of the Universe". It is simply a model which explains the expansion of spacetime.

Watch those vids, very good explanation.

I find Christianity to be a lie ( I have never read/analyzed any other sacred texts other than the bible so I will not say definitives about those religions ) and feel that without absolute proof nothing can be certain nor believed to the extent some religions and scientific answers are.

Example: We believe that our 'souls' have to go somewhere so religions came up with some kind of heaven, hell and purgatory.

Who says that our souls have to go anywhere though? My Theology professor said something that is very true and would apply to everyone - "I can not imagine a world without myself". We know life will go on after we are dead as it has gone on before we were born but who wants to believe that after they die they no longer exist?

Were the above statement not true there would be no need for heaven, hell and purgatory.

I also feel that all this topic will do is start everyone fighting and flaming each other.

My own personal views you may wonder? I choose not to say at this time.

EDIT: Some images for you to enjoy

There is no evidence that something like a "soul" exists. All evidence points to our brains being the sole determinant of our personal identity, ie. we are our brains and nothing more/less. This is what will happen when you die: http://naturalism.org/death.htm

I know that there is no evidence that the soul exists. I simply stated that heaven, hell and purgatory exist for the soul. Please read more carefully.
