Just going to throw this out again. Hawking is just as intelligent, if not more intelligent than Einstein was. Einstein wasn't sure what started it, and he also leaned towards the idea of gravity.

    I lol'd hard.

@Sacred421 Einstein once said that he isn't as smart as everyone makes him out to be, he just spends more time thinking about one problem than anyone else.

It's not about the big names in science, it's about the general consensus amongst the educated: that the Big Bang is the cause of the Universe.

    Intelligent argument? Where?

You're contradicting yourself here. If God isn't an entity as you put it, but merely an "excuse" for people to have hope. You're basically saying that God gives believers fear that if they do something wrong, they will be punished, but nothing more than that. That basically means he is just like a fable and fables are fiction.

I'm an Atheist, yes, but I don't denounce religion unless provoked. Christians can quietly believe the crap which is known as Christianity and I won't care, but when they attempt to enforce these beliefs while giving no evidence and instead using points like "oh Einstein admitted it!" that aren't backed up by anything, I state my views. Moreover, Einstein himself has said "The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weakness, the Bible a collection of honorable, but still purely primitive, legends which are nevertheless pretty childish."

    English > Arabic

    Arabic > Greek

    Greek > Hebrew

    Hebrew > German

    German > Italian

    Italian > French

And now we're going to go back to English. Bear in mind that we're using sophisticated modern translation technology.

    Analysis

    - Jesus could have actually been called 'Mr. Cheese' (Lord > Roy).
    - Whenever the Bible refers to righteousness (a lot), it is actually talking about riding horses. (designated driver)
    - Entirely new Bible characters have been invented accidentally through translation (see 'Kobe').
    - Hell may actually be a wonderful non-stop tea party ('goodness and mercy' became privacy violations...).
    - All houses are meetings, and vice versa.

    And the most shocking one...

    - The Lord could have been rubbing 'heads' with oil and doing 'bad things' with his 'rod'. Also, it doesn't tell us what he does to the 'face of his enemies', but I've got a good idea  Religion is so hypocritical, isn't it?

Ozaki, the Big Bang Theory does not actually say anything about the "cause of the Universe". It is simply a model which explains the expansion of spacetime.

Introduction to the big bang theory part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RHfUFljTmw

Watch those vids, very good explanation.

I find Christianity to be a lie ( I have never read/analyzed any other sacred texts other than the bible so I will not say definitives about those religions ) and feel that without absolute proof nothing can be certain nor believed to the extent some religions and scientific answers are.

Example: We believe that our 'souls' have to go somewhere so religions came up with some kind of heaven, hell and purgatory.

Who says that our souls have to go anywhere though? My Theology professor said something that is very true and would apply to everyone - "I can not imagine a world without myself". We know life will go on after we are dead as it has gone on before we were born but who wants to believe that after they die they no longer exist?

Were the above statement not true there would be no need for heaven, hell and purgatory.

I also feel that all this topic will do is start everyone fighting and flaming each other.

My own personal views you may wonder? I choose not to say at this time.

EDIT: Some images for you to enjoy

There is no evidence that something like a "soul" exists. All evidence points to our brains being the sole determinant of our personal identity, ie. we are our brains and nothing more/less. This is what will happen when you die: http://naturalism.org/death.htm

I know that there is no evidence that the soul exists. I simply stated that heaven, hell and purgatory exist for the soul. Please read more carefully.
