You really need to be able to edit and infract and delete posts or moderation is kind of silly.

Then why even bother having a SFA mod? You could just do it all. :p

I'm not active in this small subsection, noticeably feedback doesn't get much feedback. So I apologise for the bump, because I've just noticed this post.

However I disagree with removing all current threads to archive. I personally love to read through SFA threads old or new, and if or when they are responded to I have interest in reading it, as some responses can and do have intellectual thoughts and opinions within their debates.

With saying that; the title definitely needs a change. And the threads need more moderation.

A example would be the thread I created, 'Suicide, is it fair?'. There are multiple comments, one liners or general statements written by vaders or scammers that have been banned. The poor moderation of the section shows that people are being allowed to build-up post counts. The apparent "strict rules" or close moderation is a joke.

Now I'm not saying my post is intellectually written to the best of standards, but the debate or topic itself and the responses is what is key to the discussion. However there are a few threads that may have an intellectual aspect to it, but most the responses does the thread no favours. To me an example of this is .. 'are you a psycopath'.

I guess what I'm saying is..what it mainly needs is just the moderation, which it is lacking. Why is there strict rules, when it's not even being implemented. I guess this may be because nobody is actively reporting shit-posts.. although I'm curious as to whether anyone has actually been banned in that section.

The section doesn't need to be solely for absolute intellects, but it is lacking intelligence from many people posting.

I discussed this lack of moderation in a thread a while back http://www.sythe.org/threads/devolution-of-sfa.1852147/

It was handled appropriately for a month or so, then it went back downhill again. Unfortunately, I don't think there's any point in discussing it anymore. Everyone knows what SFA has turned into and don't really care much to fix it.

I remember this and it definitely did have a good moderation for that month.

I'm unsure if its, because the section is somewhat dry.. as in there is a lack of interest for people to post constantly, but more so gradually over time.

I guess then a clean out of SFA would seem a good option, but I'd hate my thread to be sidelined like that /:

Edit: no actually. . I'd rather see small changes made.. the name change for one has been questioned for some time.. the whole given up attitude isn't me.

I agree giving up completely isn't a good idea. It's just that staff already has their plate full with a lot of things and I don't think it would be fair to blame them for not being able to go through every post in SFA and make sure it meets the standards of the rules set years ago.

In this case, there actually is a way non-staff can help substantially, and that would be through reporting posts and letting the respective moderators know where to look for people breaking rules. That would probably help out a ton :)
