Are we assuming spiders like the crawl into peoples mouths? I have a feeling they are referring to spiders/other insects on fruits and vegetables. I've seen some pretty small spiders on things like strawberries that I would have ate if I didn't see them.
I don't believe this, but apparently its true! Thoughts on this??
That's an average. That doesn't mean you do. It happens in people's sleep and I'd assume the frequency of spider swallowing is dependent on where the person sleeps.
I'd say this is true, I've heard this many times. And yes it must be in your sleep. I think it depends where you live.

I'd say it can't be just in your sleep. Does it include other bugs or just spiders?
Haha, every time I wake up with a dry mouth or weird taste in my mouth this is always what I think about. LOL
nothin surprising imo >.>
Aite, change my mind. All you guys who believe people eat spiders are retarded. Spiders CANNOT and WILL NOT just crawl into your mouth and tingle their way down your esophagus.
Someone close this ridiculous thread.
No, once something is in your mouth, you automatically swallow it in your sleep.
I used to put things in other people's mouths while they slept in the same tent as me back in boyscouts. If it tickles their mouth enough, they will swallow it.
I've chewed gum before, gone to sleep with it in my mouth, and woke up with it still being in my mouth...
