I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but what you want will never happen. You're asking a bunch of Runescape obsessed 12 year olds that haven't seen the sun since they were 5 years old to change their spam into intellectual replies. You're also talking about changing a place on Sythe.org, basically the laughing stock/noobhole of the gaming community, besides Fagex. I'll help you out with your vision, sure, but you can't expect for things to change. These are all sun-deprived kids who can't tell the difference between the sidewalk and a beach-ball, but can between a Rune Two-Hander and a Bronze Axe. Good luck, but this is never going to happen.

I completely agree. I used to be active in the gfx section of Sythe. I wouldn't say that I was skilled, but I sure had the heart and I loved doing it. I also remember when it wasn't like this back then. People would actually post helpful things on people's work, there was almost no sales, and everything was just so great.

As the gfx community went down the drain, I lost interest. I would love to get back into making sigs etc, but the gfx forums suck right now because of stupid leechers trying to get up their post count, and everyone charging for everything. Notice how I don't even have a sig anymore? Psh, I wish the gfx forum would actually go back to the way it used to.

I'm not around anymore really and I never got to know you TDD but what you said with that post is what I realised when browsing this forum.

Sythe had an awesome GFX community 1 1/2 / 2 years back and I really hate browsing this section by now. I don't log on that much but I'm around I miss the good old days when everybody who was active in this forum put something good out and you could actually debate and not get flamed at for being critical.

I miss the old days in a way and I miss the community but I shall stop reminiscing.

TDD, you put it well and this should be stickied.

Agreed, that's the exact feeling I get. I came to sythe right in the middle of the "graphics boom," I suppose I could call it. A thread, back then, were you asked for CnC, practically turned into a tutorial.

 

I don't know if you remember me TDD, but I was also there in the time of she mines it, President bush, and all the other greats.

I left this forum a while ago wen all the bad ass sigmakers were still around, and now that I'm returning , I see they are all gone. What happened to everybody? And most importantly what happened to this forum?

 

Most times I don't read posts that big but that my friend... Was simply amazing post I wish things were like that where there were improvements not just one word things like "10/10" "nice" "cool" "that's awesome" and things like that there is always room for improvement, bravo!

 

I am She Mines It. =D I changed my name to SMI, because I was tired of being referred to as a female. Over time, I could not associate myself too directly with our admin, SMR, by choice, so I changed my name to my real expression of self.

 

I actually did a search on my name to see if anyone I knew from before was still on here and I did kind out that you changed your name!

People maybe enthusiastic at making sigs on this site, but not good... Not seen any good ones made yet!

 

Good speech TDD,i know this forum atm is fucked up with the sig art around it,i'm sure that i can help you in this forum to make tutorials and give tips and REAL critique to people,i hope this forum gets improvement,well,it's about time.

 

I think the gfx section should be way more popular, but it seems as if most people only care about the marketing section of this forums.

 

I don't think we should limit this post to just the GFX section.

The community as a whole is shit. We need to have a talk in staff lounge, but we both know the solutions we want pushed forward will never be admitted into play.

But seriously, I think a mod should move this or copy this to the community general. This section just illustrates the state of being that Sythe.org is right now. We really need to do something about it. The question is will we?

 

I support this 100%. All of these people suck majorly at sig making. They think they're all high and mighty but they're a disgrace to photoshop. Their "GFX" is as good as a beginner's sig. Good God....

 

Most of the Sythe members are about 14 years old, and that's reflected in the quality of work in GFX forums. It's not really surprising, and I don't think much can be done about it. Most won't have had the practice to make "good" work, as with using any high-end software like PS, experience is what makes the user proficient.

 

That is a stereotypical comment that is untrue.
