Taking my road test on friday.

I live in NYC so i'm taking my road test in New Rochelle as I've heard it's by far the easiest place to take it.

Problem is i'm taking the test in a car I've never driven as the car I learned to drive in is unavailable. So i'm taking the test in an 2010 infiniti m35x so i'm a bit afraid that i'll mess up since I've never driven it before....


Anyway, any tips you guys have for me to pass my test?

 

Keep two hands on the wheel the whole time or else you'll fail. You're not going to fail for going to slow so go slow enough that you don't mess up. Drive the car on the way to the DMV so you get a feel for it.

 

Just be smart. Don't take risks, you don't have to pretend you're am expert, just focus, and get the job done. All the best.

Just treat like any other drive, don't let the pressure get to you ...It's only what you've learnt, don't take risks , play smart

 

Don't stress about it, a car is a car. The brakes may be a little touchier/steering may be tighter/etc., but it's still just a car. Just drive as you normally would. The instructor I had for my license was pretty chill and as long as you don't run a red light, you should be fine.

 

Develop a feel for the car on your drive over there as relaxation and comfort ability is very important. And as for any driving test: Be smart. Both hands on the wheel, look both ways before switching lanes parallel parking, and most importantly remember that you must already be in the lane to turn into another as opposed to cutting across.

 

Be alert, Always use signals even when you don't think you need to. It looks good to the person testing you. Always double look when turning or about to pull from the curb. Even use a signal leaving the curb. Make sure all the gear inside the car is usable and safe.

You are not in a standard are you? If its an automatic you should be alright regardless what automatic car you get into.

Good luck as well, Its an awesome feeling when you can drive to school for the first time. That is how I was the first day I had mine.

 

Don't ever think you're going to slow/being too cautious during these tests. I failed my first time since I didn't wait like 7 seconds at a stop sign and forgot one turn signal. Be as safe as possible.

 

Jus remember to check all your mirrors brah

 

It doesnt really matter what you drive, at least for me it made no difference, in drivers school they made us on purpose drive a different car each time, dont worry bud in the future

 

acually, you can be penalized for being to slow and turning too slow, its a safet hazard. i had a road test last week and the guy was like 'hurry up'..

 

Disagree. During my test, even though I passed, my person told me that I went too slow as I was about to turn from the main road--if you go too slow, people could rear end you from behind

 

Drive everyday.

You might fail the first driving test (I did) and when you know what you did wrong, the next driving test, you should be able to ace it no problem. try to stay 3-5mph under the speed limit posted (25mph, drive 22-20mph)

 

I suggest you make everything you do very obvious (checking mirrors, checking blind spot, etc). Best of luck!

 

Just focus and try to think with logic. Don't try to be a pro by speeding too much etc. That's the best i can give :laugh:
